Hello everyone,
My query was that I have received a call from PIP this week stating that they will do a Paper based assessment as they have enough information however, I didnt request for one. Do they usually go for Paper based and still say no?
As I havent seen or read on this forum any unsuccessful paper based assessment. Thank you in advance

My personal experience with paper based assessments have all resulted in an award, which i was happy with each time. There has been some members here quite recently that have had paper based assessments, some have been happy with the award but some haven't.
We did have one member not long ago that said they were refused after a paper based assessment.
Nothing more you can do until that decision is made which can take anything up to 12 weeks.

@poppy123456 thank you. I hope it will all go well. This morning I have just received a text from Dwp stating that they have received my written report and information. I am just abit surprised and overhelmed how quick the process went only 3 months

@poppy123456 or anyonelse? I have requested for a copy of my written report from Dwp as it was a paper based. Can I ask how long it take for me to receive a copy of my assessment report?

It can take up to 2 weeks. Royal Mail are striking too so expect it to take a little bit longer.

Just to enquire. I had an appoitment with my GP regardig for a check up. I also asked my Doctor if DWP or the Assessment Centre has contacted them but he said that no one has contacted them in the records. So my PIP was paper based and only 3 months.

It's not unusual for them not to contact anyone because it's rare they do this.

It's when they make an assessment and decision based solely on the information provided with the claim (and possibly information obtained by the assessor) without having an assessment appointment with the claimant.

    *Update:
Just to update everyone. I have received my Assessment Report and according to the report I scored 17 points on Daily and 12 points on Mobility. How likely is it that the assessor will go with the report?

Mostly they do but not always, it has been known for them to go against it. Nothing more you can do but wait for the decision.

    Hello Everyone,
I have been awarded full PIP now both enhanced. Its just this question is a little bit off topic so I apologise. However, my son is caring for me and receives carer element on UC. How many hours can he work so that they can take his carer element off?

There's no maximum amount of hours a person can work while claiming UC. Entitlement is based on earnings received each month. If he doesn't have the work allowance then his earnings will reduce his UC by 55%. He can use a benefits calculator to check entitlement and put in different figures to see what it comes up with.

congratulations on getting your PIP award seemingly so easily  (because they are not making it easy for me)however to have gotten this award you must be really incapacitated. By the time my parents got significant monetary benefits they were too old and infirm  to 'enjoy' their extra income

There is no limit on the hours he can work. Provided he does 35 hours of care he is entitled to have the carer element included.

    Hi all,

I was wondering, how do you go about requesting a pip paper based assessment? Who do you need to contact?

I am jumping to gun abit here, I haven't been given an assessment date, but it's very likely I will in due course.  My first assessment was rejected, like others, I thought I was reading a report on someone else. From start to finished was blatantly lies, So now I am trying again.

I am registered with the Safeguarding team, who helped me with the application process. They've also confirmed that various departments within DWP and UC will be aware of the safeguarding alert. Will this make any difference  to how my application will be accessed.
I have provided evidence outlining my conditions and application form is very much how my conditions affect me on a day to day basis.

Also, another question, when the assessment takes place and the reports gets sent back to DWP, does the report go back to my caseworker or just a random one?
In regards to the decision maker, do they just get the assessment where a decision cannot be made?
