Missed deadline. Can they put in a mandatory reconsideration?

Hi all. A friend claims child dla and was due to have it renewed but missed the due date and sent in form late. They were refused. Can they put in a mandatory reconsideration or appeal re this due to a genuine mistake.

Were they refused because they returned the form late or just refused DLA award?

Can do an MR but will need to give good reason for late return.0

Just because it was late. God love her she has a lot going on at home. Her other half was v unwell0

Yes a bit better was in hospital a few days. I dont know if shes got it sorted yet tho0

Being in hospital for a few days sounds really difficult @ricky1040. How is everything at the moment?
