Can I just air my anxiety and frustration please. I still haven't heard and I know it's up to 12 weeks etc. But reading some messages yes ...they did get my hopes up etc. I find it so frustrating to have to proof people how poorly you are even with all my hospital letters etc. We had a hard time to renew my life insurance and when we finally did ...we are paying loads for eventually a crumble of a pay out, obviously they think i am ill enough 😔. And my list is so long, what I am trying to say is...it's hard to wait for someone else to acknowledge what every one else know. For just a bit extra for adjustments because you can't ever work again, because this disease took my independence, my social life to be fair everything I ever was.....away. I know dwp don't have an easy job, but I wish they could be a fly on the wall for the daily struggles most of us go through. Sorry for the long story, I needed it to get of my chest. Another week of waiting to commence for me, have a great weekend I will try to do the same

I totally understands how you feel. It’s like living in a state of anxiety and waiting for a result that is potentially life changing.
I felt exactly the same until I got my award text of Tuesday.
My decision wasn’t quick or slow
    my timescale
    assessment 02/12/22
    no decision text 27/12/22
    award text 17/01/22
so some where in the middle
And yes it’s a worry when you see others get their award quickly , naturally you assume you have been declined .- because of the stress it causes.
My future felt on hold too so I understand how frustrating it is .
I really hope you hear soon with the results you deserve .

Hi all. So I got a letter today saying they were awarding me 0 points. I find it daft as they say even using a box to remember when to take medicine deserves a point. They also went on to say that they do think I have problems with eating, taking nutrition, and making budgeting decisions, but still say it’s not enough. They base this on the fact that I haven’t told my GP about it. I have told my GP about it but it may not have been noted. They also say that I have not been under the CMHT, I wonder where my counselling came from then. I have been through multiple rounds since September.

They based a lot of my decisions on the fact that I work full time and am able to drive to work everyday. Yes that is true, but my work place is tiny so I manage better. I work in a very supportive environment and although it’s classed as 9-5, it’s not really and I can pick up and leave when I want as long as I do the hours. I can also do the hours from home if needs be. I also have my own little space at work (a disused office) which I can use to go to if I feel tense to get away.

I just feel discriminated against by the DWP because my job accepts my issues rather than sacks me for it. If I was in and out of jobs would they have said I could.

They also based this on me not having sick days. Again a very supportive environment, I’ve had days off but they don’t get logged. I also attend most of my appointments via telephone unless I have to have tests done so I don’t need to be at work.

They also say that there is not enough test results and I haven’t been to a memory clinic. Why do I need to go a memory clinic for mental health problems?

Another thing they said was there is no evidence of a change of medication. That’s very odd since I only got put on new ones in November, just a month before I applied.

I also described by job in the application saying it was small I had space.

I’m extremely annoyed and will be going to a mandatory reconsideration.

You need to go through their Decision line by line, explain why their assumptions are incorrect with examples, you need to use the correct form for the MR, don't rush it, see if further evidence will help, maybe from your GP can help you.  Remember to get it in within 30 days, Get Proof of Postage. Don't give up.

Thank you. Yes it is a very disappointing result despite the fact the person doing the assessment saying I could have autism based on my answers.

@Coolcar98 For the MR if you didn't give a couple of real world examples of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you then i'd advise you to do that. Include detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.

You can point out 1 0r 2 contradictions in the report but try not to concentrate wholly on this because it won't get you a PIP award. Some of those reasons you were given for refusal are standard copy and paste. PIP has nothing to do with your capability for work. Though if the work you do contradicts the reasons for your claim then it can go against you. (i'm not saying there's any contraditctions)

If you don't have access to a computer and printer than you can just write a letter, you don't need to use the form.

Letters from a GP aren't the best evidence to send because your GP doesn't spend anytime with you to see how you wash/dress/prepare a meal/budget/communicate etc etc. They will only ever know the basics. If they know anything more than this then it's because you told them.

Although you have 1 month to request the MR, with good reason you have 13 months. So if you don't manage to complete this within that timescale, just give a reason why you didn't request it within that time when writing the MR. If DWP then go on to refuse you then you just proceed to Tribunal.
