Getting a diagnosis is FRUSTRATING

I was initially diagnosed with Mixed Anxiety and Depressive Disorder which apparently is a mild condition. I always knew my condition wasn’t mild based on my symptoms and how I was feeling.
I was diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety Disorder with depersonalisation symptoms and substance misuse in 2010. This diagnosis seemingly dropped off my records despite continually accessing the mental health services for anxiety and depression.
Now I have just been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, panic disorder with agoraphobia. And yet my GP service is saying we gave you a diagnosis.
No, you didn’t. You gave me a mild diagnosis from the ICD10. Even agoraphobia with panic disorder says subsidiary obsessive compulsive symptoms and depression symptoms - which actually fits what I’m experiencing.
I’m absolutely FED UP of GP’s. They wonder why people end up health anxious, when their bodies are tense and they feel like they’re dying and you’re treated like an idiot with no diagnosis.
I can see on my records my visits to A&E with my panic attacks, a diagnosis of Anxiety Disorder NOS was recorded, yet nobody bothered to follow it up and find out what was going on.
The result now is that I’m more impaired than I originally began.

Hi @bluefox it certainly can be frustrating when GPs mess about. I find you have to fight for everything with GPs and hospitals. I don't know why. Constantly having to keep going back all the time, if you can get an appointment. I'm wondering if you could be asked to be referred onto other services, or get to see a different doctor maybe.0

Oh @bluefox
You really deserve validation and support that matches your experience. It is super important and positive that you recognise your experience.
Is there anything, in particular, that might help things to feel more manageable for you at the moment?
Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything we can do to support you0
