Yes you can ask for a telephone or video hearing, most of them are either of those anyway. The stats are the same whether it's those or face to face hearing. One thing to aware of that they will expect him to speak for himself during the hearing.

I’m so sorry that you were not awarded PIP and understand how disappointing this is. I was successful with my MR as I listened to the fantastic advice on this forum and wrote approx half a page of A4 on each of the descriptors I felt I deserved points on - giving real life examples of how my conditions affect me on a daily basis. Wait for your report to arrive and if you feel that you should have been awarded points in areas where you failed to score points, or gained too few points,  explain why you should have been awarded points/more points for each descriptor by including your real life examples of your daily struggles. For me, personally, it was important for me to explain how my conditions affect my daily living most of the time as this point was overlooked by the assessor. Good luck with your MR. 👍🏼🤞🏼🍀

He has been given anti seizure medication for the issues with wrong nerve signals being sent to the brain causing issues with pain and muscles and twitching and referred to ENT and referred to Sleep apnia clinic?  But sadly this was after we sent the MR, He got the MR decision and they again did not take into account the help he needs and ignored the distance he can walk without being in pain, he said 5 to 10 meters in pain the assessor put upto 50 meters saying in her report he could walk part way down a supermarket aisle, yes 5 to 10 meters in pain! they said he used aids to help wash and dress so low point scores, YES uses aids if his partner is not there to help him but he struggles using aids or doesn't bother getting washed and dressed! They ignored the dyslexia cos he was never officially diagnosed with it at school back then. I wish he could get an official diagnosis now! They gave the award to 2025 so he says he cannot cope with the stress of more right now so will wait till the 2025 date then say about the conditions getting worse and more of a struggle.
