Please be careful of clever scams, anyone can fall victim to scams and they often involve fake websites and phone numbers. People who have vulnerabilities, who are isolated and have a disability, or who are neurodiverse are especially vulnerable. In such cases then sadly and quite wrongly in my view is that the bank and financial ombudsman will not uphold the case even with evidence. The emphasis appears to be on the ombudsman to refuse and close as many cases as quickly as possible. If anyone feels at risk or is concerned about others then please seek advice or help

I'm so sorry to hear that your case was a fake publisher scam. How are you doing now?
For those after more information, we do have a thread called Can you spot a scammer? that you may find useful to read.0 -
Thank you, Hannah, that's very helpful.0

It was only after I was scammed by Clarins UK that I looked into them (wish I had done that first). There seemed to be a lot of other people online that had gone through the same thing. Although I lost my money (which I could ill afford) I am finding solace in bringing people together to support each other with these so n so's. I started a fb group. Perhaps you could try something similar. All the very best to you.
