Hiya all. So I woke this morning to a text to say that....
My PIP review is now complete and I should hear decision via letter in next two weeks.

I don't mean this in a horrible way because I am pleased for everyone who get accepted for pip and get their awards .but. its 17 weeks since I applied and still haven't had a decision first claim and then some people are getting theirs within a couple of weeks of applying. It's. So worrying then .0

Mine has been just over 20 weeks since first applying its now at the desicion makers so within 4 weeks I wS told but they said should be sooner dont dishearten should not be too long now1

I know I've read of a few stories where that has happened.Hannahmarie1234 said:I don't mean this in a horrible way because I am pleased for everyone who get accepted for pip and get their awards .but. its 17 weeks since I applied and still haven't had a decision first claim, nd then some people are getting theirs within a couple of weeks of applying. I think a lot depends on the area you live in. Where abouts are you based? @Hannahmarie1234 and @roglin55?
I'm down in Kent.
Let's hope they pull their fingers out and get you both sorted with what you deserve as soon as!
Mine is for a rreview, but circumstances and health has changed alot since my 1st claim in 2019
My review form was sent in September 2022 and I returned it to them by the 30th. So short of a few weeks has been nearly a year now. They reckon a couple more weeks...
I've also heard where some people get the money backdated from review if awarded the higher amount. But then I've also heard of others that don't. Seemingly some more inconsistencies.
I know for me claims it gets backdated to when they receive the form in, or it may even be from when the claim started.
Sorry, I'm rambling here.

Timescales are just a guide. Waiting times vary quite considerably right across the country. Some areas will have longer waiting times than others. It also depends on each individual case and everyone’s is different.Hannahmarie1234 said:I don't mean this in a horrible way because I am pleased for everyone who get accepted for pip and get their awards .but. its 17 weeks since I applied and still haven't had a decision first claim and then some people are getting theirs within a couple of weeks of applying. Having been through PIP claims many times myself over the past 10 years I totally understand the stress it causes when waiting for a decision. You’ve done all you can for now and you just need to wait for a decision. Try to focus on something else why you wait.Waiting 17 weeks really isn’t that long, even if it seems like it is. It doesn’t mean anything other than no decision has been made yet. You will be contacted once it’s made, whether that’s through a text and a decision letter or just a decision letter.0 -
I literally literally don't know how. At first I was naive, hoping to hear back quickly and checking the post constantly. Then as I head towards Christmas then new year I just had to put it out of my mind. Its only through reading through other posts that's helped keep me sane I guess and support from you guysHannahmarie1234 said:I'm in South Wales. Sounds like a bit of a journey you've been on with i it. I really don't get the amount of letters and texts they send to supposedly update, but tends to cause more anxietyroglin55 said:I had a letter 21st to sat they had everything to make descion then 22nd text to say descion not made yet as they descided they just needed some info off my doctor that was 22nd June letter sent from DWP 26TH JUNE doctors kept saying had not received then on 16th August I got word from dwp they had phoned my doctors and letter would get posted that day. 25th August DWP received letter 26th August my claim with case manager to look over and make descion so then got told within four weeks so hears hoping it's before it's been over 20 weeks0 -
