Just had a text.

I have just received a text about PIP from the assessors, not from PIP itself, I had a text from them when they received the form, but this text is different it says: Hello from Independent Assessment Services. We conduct Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments for the DWP. This is for information only, to let you know that we are managing your PIP assessment. We will look at the available evidence and will contact you with an appointment if we need to have a consultation with you.

Has anyone ever received a text like this?

These are just standard texts which many of our members have received.

Thank you. I will be honest.  I wasn't expecting such a quick reply from them as I only sent my form in August, to do with a change of circumstances. However, since sending the information off, my psychologist has written to my doctor saying that since we started our sessions in December of last year, my mental health has deteriorated and so has my physical health.  I don't know what to do with this letter, whether to send it to them and if I do where do I send it?

You can send supporting evidence to the DWP at any time, & they'll pass it onto IAS. If you've kept the DWP address from when you sent your claim form off, then use that. If unsure ring the PIP enquiry line on 0800 121 4433. The best time to get through is 9am.

I didn't keep the address, unfortunately, but thank you for helping me.

Then ring the PIP enquiry line on 0800 121 4433 @shellbell20 to ask for the correct address to send more info about your claim.

That's strange, I received a separate text a couple of weeks ago when they received my form and this one today now it's gone to the assessment centre.  How could they send your form that quickly if they only had received it, unless they electronically scanned it?  I am sure you will hear shortly, is yours a change of circumstances, renewal or new claim?

They must send them electronically then.  I think they deal with new claims quicker than renewals, After reading news articles about it, not sure how quickly they deal with changes in circumstances. However, I read an old post on here of someone who got the same message with a renewal, they waited 18 months, then received the same text we have received,  then had their assessment booked for 2 months later. Not sure if that was a coincidence or not. Anyway, good luck with your assessment when it happens.

My new claim last year took from January until August I think, It was a while, and I didn't receive a text like this time though. I don't understand why it took them so long to receive your form unless they just didn't update when they received and only did that when they moved the paperwork to say oh yes by the way we received it.

Mine is not a renewal it's a change of circumstances and I'm not sure about the timeline for that,  if there is one, or if it's just a postcode lottery or the luck of the draw.

@shellbell20 as has already been mentioned that's a standard text. That's actually near identical to the text I got about 1 week after I sent in my own PIP forms.

Hopefully the wait won't be too long, we're always here for advice and support <3
