Not entitled to covid jab

My wife / carer is entitled to a Covid booster jab on account of her being my carer
But I apparently am not.....
How can this be right ?
I do not fit in to any of the "at risk" categories
Residents in care homes for older adults - I live in my own home
All adults aged 65 years and over - I am 60
People aged six months to 64 years in a clinical risk group - never been told
Frontline health and social care workers
People aged 12 to 64 who are household contacts of people with weakened immune systems
But I apparently am not.....
How can this be right ?

So far we have both avoided Covid completely but the new variant worries me - I spent two years not leaving the home from March 2020 and may have to go through isolation again to stay safe.

I am booked in for my flu-jab but the Covid vaccine hasn't been mentioned to me. I don't particularly want either but I am going to get the flu-jab for the sake of the older people in my family who I spend quite a lot of time with.

How do I know what risk group I am in?

Have you spoken to the GP? They should have a back office team that deals with jabs who'll be able to go through the groups with you and you can raise your concerns with them.Wibbles said:How do I know what risk group I am in? -
Clinical risk groups for adults aged 16 years and over:
- chronic respiratory disease
- chronic heart disease and vascular disease
- chronic kidney disease
- chronic liver disease
- chronic neurological disease
- diabetes mellitus and other endocrine disorders
- immunosuppression
- asplenia or dysfunction of the spleen
- morbidly obese
- severe mental illness

Does Parkinsonism count as chronic neurological disease

I don't know for certain but I did find this page about Parkinson's and Covid-19 from Parkinson's UK.
Hopefully it contains some helpful information!They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

Thanks - Parkinsons UK clearly have no idea as to a sufferers entitlement to a jab !

I'm sorry that wasn't helpful @Wibbles, if it was up to myself jabs for viral diseases would be free but I unfortunately don't get to make such decisions!
I hope you can talk to your GP and find a way for you to get on the list.They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

Hi @Wibbles - as we've discussed previously https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/comment/493683#Comment_493683 & you've said yourself, you don't have Parkinson's Disease, rather features similar to it, i.e. Parkinsonism due to an old brain injury.
