I hope you hear back soon @coldwatermermaid. The waiting really can get to you sometimes. Hope you've got some good distractions on!0

Thanks Jimm. It really can.Jimm_Scope said:I hope you hear back soon @coldwatermermaid. The waiting really can get to you sometimes. Hope you've got some good distractions on!
I've always prided myself on my independence so even applying for it in the first place was a big thing for me. Twenty weeks on and I've gone through so many ups and downs. Optimism that it might help me hold on to my precious independence for a few more years. Depression as I burn my way through savings trying to keep my head above water while attending hospital appointments and physio and nurse visits etc.
With winter coming I genuinely don't know how I'm going to cope with it all. Especially if it comes down to a choice between food/heat and extra petrol to get to appointments. I live in the middle of nowhere and it's a half hour to the closest hospitals. Two hours + if I'm sent to one further away. One way. And all of that while in constant pain is overwhelming at times. Don't think I've ever needed as many mental health days as I have this year! So all this waiting and worrying doesn't help.0 -
Just an update for you all.
No text message confirming i have been awarded pip.
Will be ringing at 9am to find out more.

Phoned PIP and the automated line asked me to confirm, how much my last PIP payment was.
Does this mean i have been awarded?
Thank you.0 -
@UkGuy94
Yeah just rang and when they asked about my last payment I just said have not recieved yet .it then told me how much and what date my next payment will be .🙂0 -
Caved in and rang to ask for copy of report. Was told my case is with the manager today so hopefully shouldn't be too long. Said once a decision is made they send a text and I can then ring for more details if I want to do that before the letter arrives. Feel a bit better cos at least have a reply now to the family and friends who keep asking me if I've heard anything.0

@coldwatermermaid they told me this last Friday and I heard Tuesday so fingers crossed you will hear in a day or two 🙂1

@coldwatermermaid usually once it's with the manager, it's fairly quick for a reply. So I'm keeping everything crossed for you! I remember the waiting is the worst part, it's the pits.
I'll be watching out for your reply with good news soon.

Thank you! Will definitely report back. The information on these boards and just knowing you're not alone is so helpful.Albus_Scope said:@coldwatermermaid usually once it's with the manager, it's fairly quick for a reply. The wait is torture isn't it?! Part of me is hoping the arrival of the report will at least give me an idea of what to expect. Another part thinks it might just be something else I'll stress about. Really is awful that people are put through all this for so long. Hope you hear soon!!tessy1 said:I'm the same I got a letter the start of Aug to say they will write when they have made a decision and still no word. I applied at the start of April0
