Can anyone tell me please what benefit I can claim now I'm no longer employed .. I'm 66 and haven't got a clue what to do. What am I entitled to etc. Thanks

66 is state pension age, so you should be claiming this, are you claiming it? https://www.gov.uk/new-state-pension/what-youll-getWhether there's any entitlement to Pension Credit will depend on your circumstances. Are you living with a partner or alone?

Yes I'm claiming state pension. I live alone and was just wondering if there was anything else I could claim. I don't think I'm entitled to pension credits

Hi @jiggerjoe - if you meet certain criteria if you have a disability, & have needed help in the form of care or supervision for at least 6 months, then you could try claiming Attendance Allowance. Thank you .. I'm in the process of claiming pip.. I was 65 when I put in for it.. refused twice now tribunal.. I have osteoartheritis fibromyalgia diabetes stage 4 severe arthritis. Kidney cancer now I'm on chemotherapy .. and got no points awarded on pip.. laughable

Unfortunately your story is a very common one here. Many people who really need the support are awarded zero points, but if you have the energy to fight it through to the tribunal, we usually see a much nicer ending to it all. Please let us know how you get on with the tribunal!Albus (he/him)

Thank you so much.. I should have gone for attendance allowance maybe.. but I started this claim with pip, I've got this far... why give up now.. I was tempted to throw the towel in and go for attendance allowance a while back. Then I'd heard so many story's about how pip claiments are being treated just like myself and thought I'm going to fight this. The DWP are so so wrong in there assessment

It's more than possible that the PIP claim form was not completed in the correct way. What supporting evidence have you sent them?

The problem was I was never sent a form .. the assessment went ahead without me ever having filled a form in.. evidence includes ... All evidence to do with every problem I've listed on this post
