Hello everyone,

I have just had a letter saying, after review my pip cannot be awarded any more!
please can someone advise me how to go on further please to try and get this decision upturned!
it is an absolute joke! But no one here is laughing.

Hey @sticks72, really sorry to hear your review did not go well. As woodbine says an MR is your first next step, Citizen's Advice has a good page about how to start your MR.
Good luck, let us know how you get on! Remember after MR there are further appeal stages so even if it comes back with the same response it's not over.0 -
Thanks for your reply, I went on The advice now site where you can answer the questions on the parts of the report I failed on and it generates a letter to send for the MR, which I have done in a lot of detail.I feel that the assessor in the video review didn’t translate everything I said positively, it sounded contradictory. My notes said I was passed to carry on receiving my pip but after getting the assessment report they changed their mind.
I will of course let you guys know how I get on.I’ll be battening down the hatches for the long haul I guess.0 -
I have been reading that after the MR has been refused and people have take. Their claim to tribunal. The DWP are calling out of the blue to discuss the tribunal catching g people off guard, basically using dirty tricks.I have also read that because I have sent a letter for the MR instead of calling or filling out the form, explaining everything g that I disagree with I can therefore tell the caller if indeed I get one to refer to the MR for every question.Does that sound ok?0

Hello sticks 72
If you should receive such a call, do not engage with the caller other than to kindly state your preference for written communication to maintain transparency in this matter. Then, bid the caller a good morning or good afternoon and terminate the call.

Hello Sticks72Sorry to hear that you have been refused PIP at your review. The dscision maker needed to give detailed resons on why they think your condition/s have improved to warrant your award to be reduced or to be removed. If they have not given details on how your condition has improved meaning that you can complete all of the activities safely, repeatedly, in a timely manor and to an acceptable standard then they should have not reduced your award.I give advice on this reply here to another member of this forum that you might find helpful if your MR is not successful and you need to go to appeal which is highly reccommended. Here is the link https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/comment/696285#Comment_696285Hope that helpsNasturtium2

If they do ring you then usually they will either offer you a lower award or a short award, they rarely get the offer correct. As you have no PIP award if they do ring you can accept the offer just to get something in payment, accepting an offer will lapse any current appeal.Once the award is in payment you can then request another Tribunal but doing this your waiting time starts all over again.1

Thanks, Poppy, I will update when I hear anything, MR sent today!0

Hi Guys,
just a little update.I sent off my MR last week, I haven’t bothered asking for the assessors report because in my mind I think it’s just a load of tosh what she wrote anyway.I basically went off the DWP report I got back denying me further pip.I received a text today a week later, you’ve asked us to look at our decision again and we will write to you within 8 weeks.Nice of them to let me know.I’m ready to take this all the way!I will report back when I have further updates!0 -
Thanks for updating us @sticks72, good luck with the MR. Though the success rate isn't very high that doesn't mean you'll get a rejection. Of course if you do get a rejection then the tribunal awaits!
We'll be here for any questions you have, or even if you just want to chat sometimes. The waiting can be tough I know!0 -
Thankyou for your continued support!
much appreciated.1 -

I'm just finalising my own, due to my first time claim falling short of an award by 2 points.Don't think I'll be holding my breath for a positive result. Having said that they have gone against their own published guidelines with some of the reasoning so I'm highlighting that alongside giving further examples of why I think I should have had the extra points. I expect I'll be heading for tribunal myself by the new year . Wishing you the very best with it1 -
Thanks very much and sorry to hear your predicament too.It just doesn’t seem fair to be put through all this distress.Chins up tho!All the very best!2

Hi, refused my MR for the same reasons they refused my PIP after assessment.0

Hi Poppy,
that looks to be exactly what it is.First job is to get a copy of the assessment, then get the wheels rolling!1 -
You’re at Tribunal stage so you definitely don’t need the assessment report. All it causes is a distraction anyway and concentrating on that will not get you a PIP award.
You will eventually receive the report and everything else in the “bundle”1
