Hi,
I'll keep it as short as possible. I am a person with a stutter that is worse in social situations, especially with people I don't know. These kind of situations give me anxiety which makes my speech worse.
The Jobcentre are trying to put me on some work programme which will involve group work - is there any legislation which protects me from having to go on such a programme? This kind of thing is my worst nightmare due to my stutter.
Thanks in advance.

Have you reported your health condition and been through the work capability assessment?
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Hi @poppy123456
Yes I have done all that. UC found me fit for work with no eligibility for LCW or LCRWA, but I have appealed to the tribunal and awaiting the outcome. It's coming up 3 montĥs since I lodged my apppeal.
UC awarded me 0 points for speech! (Even though I was awarded 8 points for PIP). And 0 points for mixing with others (awarded 2 points on PIP) -
As you were found fit for work the only issue here is that if you refuse to attend then you could be sanctioned. Unfair i know...I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. Yes definitely unfair @poppy123456
UC pressured me into work around 4 months ago then in my appeal to the tribunal they have used it against me that I was working as part of their evidence! Though I had to leave as it was a toxic workplace and was damaging my mental health. (Never got sanctioned)
I just thought there might be legislation that prevents bodies like the DWP putting you in unfavourable situations with regard to your disability. As group work would cause me mental distresss and make my stutter worse. -
Hey there @do1987 and welcome to the community!
I can see you're getting some top support already, but I just wanted to stop by and say hello.
I hope your appeal is seen soon and successful.Albus (he/him)
