ESA and owning your own home

in Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
Hello Everyone, 

I am currently on contributions based ESA (support group) and have been for 12 years. 

Me and my husband are currently going through with purchasing our own home, we will have a mortgage of £159000 will this affect my ESA at all?

    Contributions based ESA isn't means tested. Even if it was, the home you live in is disregarded from all means tested benefits.
    I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.

    Thank you so much, I’ve been in panic mode since I got my updated ESA letter through the post today and because it was after closing I couldn’t ring them. 
    Do I still need to tell them that I own a home? As it states I have to let them know of any change in circumstances

    No, it's not a change of circumstances that needs to be reported. You only need to report changes if you've changed your address.
