Hi, Around 7 weeks ago we got migrated to UC, my wife has long term health issues. In the journal we received UCD35 form saying we will received UCD50 form to complete. Does anyone know how long this takes to come?
My wife struggles with english and she stressing out, she is young. She has liver cirrosis, chronic pancreatitus, half the pancreatitus organ has died, esophageal varices, portal vein thrombosisn, portal hyperthension and she has obstruction in bile duct. I have looked at some of the questions like can she pick up a pint of milk and empty large box. Is this how they justify if someone can work?

It should only be a few days depending on the post in your area. She must make sure it’s filled in and returned no later than the date in the letter.
The pint of milk you mentioned is part of the descriptors for LCWRA. There are 16 in total and she only needs to satisfy at least one of them. There’s also substantial risk. You can see them all here https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/universal-credit-uc/uc-faq/limited-capability-for-work-related-activity#:~:text=LCWRA%20descriptors,reasonably%2C%20be%20worn%20or%20used.&text=(ii)%20repeatedly%20mobilise%2050%20metres,of%20significant%20discomfort%20or%20exhaustion.1 -

ii) repeatedly mobilise 50 metres within a reasonable timescale because of significant discomfort or exhaustion.

It means can she walk 50m repeatedly, reliably, within a reasonable time, with or without an aid or wheelchair. Please also be aware that for this descriptor they will also consider her ability to use a self propelled wheelchair and push herself.0

I’m afraid I can’t answer that question because I know nothing about her health conditions and how they affect her.
You need to make sure you tell them all of this when filling out the form. Then include and other additional evidence you have to support her claim.0 -

Ucd50 form arrived, its states will you bring your own interpreter? Do you pay for one or can family members intreprate for applicant?0
-
"There is a substantial risk to you, or others, "
Which question in the ucd50 relate to this?
There is only 18 questions to answer. In which section can you prove you are substantial risk?
Kind regards0 -
Family members can interpret but you will need to let them know. There isn’t a specific question for substantial risk. This is because this can be covered in the information you give in the form in general. There’s also a large box for you to tell them about their health conditions, disabilities and illnesses at the start of the form.1

Does everyone have an assesment or can they make decision by paper assesment for jobcentre wca?0
-
Most have assessments which are mostly by telephone. Some are face to face. Paper based is possible if you give enough of information in the form but it’s rare.0

If someone is able to perform a task but is unable to repeat it within a reasonable timescale then they should be classed as unable to complete it at all. Do also bear in mind that it's a flat level surface that's considered. As well as the ability to use the manual wheelchair, even if they've never used one before.1

Bit of an update, wife received LCWRA today. After 5 days of the face to face assessment.
You hear all these horror stories but the assessor was nice and understanding.
We have done PIP assessment over phone and that was 1 hour 50 mins, lets see what the conclusion for that is.0 -
How long does LCWRA last for? the letter doesnt mention anything.
Kind regards0 -
Great news. It’s an ongoing award with no end date and continues until a new decision says otherwise. When it’s time for her review she will receive a letter on her journal telling her they are referring her.
