Hello all! apologies, I’m new here and just received my PIP letter through the post and was hoping someone could help as the offices are closed.
My letter states that I am being awarded standard rates for both areas which is absolutely great but it says from 26 January 2026 to 5 March 2029, I haven’t received a back dated payment yet so I’m guessing that it may have been input wrong in the system somewhere along the line?
Any help would be great,
Thanks So much xx

Hiya @Jonesr6 and welcome to the community!
Congratulations on your award, I'm betting that's a huge relief? As for the dates, I'd be guessing it's a clerical error and your PIP has actually been backdated to 26th Jan 2024 and back pay usually takes several weeks to be paid. So I'd try not to panic too much!Albus (he/him)

Hi @Jonesr6, welcome! Congratulations on your result, that's great! As Albus said, this sounds like they've made a mistake somewhere.
If you're worried you could try giving them a ring on the enquiries line on Monday, just to clear things upRosie (she/her)

I was hoping this was the case. Thanks @Albus_Scope and @Rosie_Scope I’ll ring them Monday to check 🤞🏻 it was a gruelling process as I suffer with my mental health but thankfully they’ve been understanding in my case xx

I agree that it seems like an error and it should be from 2024 and not 2026, which of course would be impossible.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Just an update ..
So it turns out that this has been done in error and in effect I wouldn’t be getting paid PIP until 2026, I’ve spoken with a lovely manager on the helpline and he is getting this sorted for me to ensure I get my allowance paid as quickly as possible. -
Glad it worked out okay @Jonesr6! Thanks for updating us, hope it all goes through quicklyRosie (she/her)
