@bookrabbit lovely photos and very powerfully written poem. I think you could write a book about it all as you’re obviously very talented at writing.

@bookrabbit l9ved the pics and poem

Thanks all:) I didn't actually think that the poem had posted because the preview scrambled the formatting and when I tried to correct it it disappeared half way through editing.
I do find writing poetry really therapeutic although I have to be in the right mood and haven't done as much recently with my life so chaotic. Hopefully I will be able to concentrate enough to start again once we are in our new house. -
Afternoon all. I am a poet so thought I would try and put my experience of chronic pain int words.
My Pain
It feels like a battle
And I am weary
Fighting against an invisible enemy
Thunder and lightning
Surging through my hands
Excruciating
Crushed bones
Every night
Waking me in misery
Silently screaming in my mind
Seven long years
Agony
From the soles of my feet
To my throbbing temples
Every movement shrouded in torment
Tiredness shrouds my body
My memory is a mist full of holes
How can I start the day with a smile
When all inside me feels wounded
Guilt and insecurity roar
Got to keep going
That’s what my head tells me
Don’t let the pain win
The fight is there to be won
But sometimes
I want to curl into a ball
Pretend I don’t exist
Just for a while
But it won't let me hide
I hand it my power
Far too quickly at times
Then the anger rises
At being so weak
Frustration coils around me
Like a boa squeezing its prey
It's hard to do what is right
When a fog clenches your thoughts
I miss my vibrancy
I want my energy back
A day without pain
What a gift that would be

Hello @wanderer, I'm not usually a big fan of poetry but your writing is really powerful and so emotive, it really resonated with me. Thank you for sharing. I'm sorry to hear how much of a battle each day can be.Community Manager

Love the rainbow @durhamjaide2001!
Gorgeous blue skies @becw, I find nature really calming too.HI @Ros@Rosie_Scope sorry just noticed your reply, ive been obsessed with a computer game called riders republic lately.the project is still onhand,id like to make nightlife to be as acessible for everyone as possible.i have recently finished off a A5 artwork that has taken months to make the background on,using a lot of different mediums. i based it on a well known computer game called STRAY which is about a cat who loses his way with his gaggle of friends,he falls and hurts himself so after coming round hes woke up in a jungle like cyberpunk world, and its all about his journey atempting to get back to his home...my dad did the writing for me and ive gone over it with a sharpie.ive also used a couple of fine liners and water colour paint and pencil shading on the piping. the cat face thing is the logo for the game. -
Out and about. Down the beach now the storms have calmed down, can hear that calming roll of the waves plus lot's of dogs and owners
