is it true if you appealing against your pip decision that you can keep your mobility car until that decision is made rather than hand it back in to garage ?

    Hi @60linda56,

I'm afraid the answer to that is 'not yet'. The government have said they want to bring that in, so that people have a chance to hang on to their vehicles, but the change hasn't been made yet. The government said before Christmas they were considering this plan.

You could write to your MP asking for their support to hurry it up, as it's obviously something that would help many people and be much fairer. The MP who made the announcement was Penny Mordaunt, Minister for disabled people, but it's usually best to contact your constituency MP for their help first - they can put pressure on ministers.

In the meantime, if you're transferring from DLA to PIP, and PIP hasn't been awarded, you should be allowed to keep your vehicle for 3 weeks after DLA stops. You might be entitled to some transitional support too - there's more about this here.
