Hi, I am on claiming housing element of the UC and on standards of each component of PIP.
Can I claim housing benefit and council tax support from the Council and cancel the housing element?

The only exception for working age people is if you're either living in supported or temporary housing. Otherwise as you advised, it no longer exists for new claims. See link. https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/benefits/housing_benefit_in_refuges_hostelsTheManFromLondon said:
I thought I have heard of an exception of that rule in one of the two cases, but I cant find anything about it. However it seems here its just some kind of preference and that would not be allowed.
In some cases housing element is more generous than housing benefit was.0
