Hey there @Ladygeorge and welcome to the community.
That sounds very frustrating, I'm so sorry. I'm afraid I don't have any answers for you there, but I'm hoping someone will be able to help shortly. I just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello.

hello - I’m self employed and care for my disabled son and the same has happened to me - last full payment I had was in March and then everything stopped. I’ve called them every week for six weeks
Apparently they’ve changed the system for self employed and every April the account will be frozen until they’ve received your full accounts for the previous tax year. I sent my accounts over a month ago and am still waiting - they used to ask for accounts and continue payments until they were received but seems now we have to endure months of the benefit stopping while waiting for them to review our accounts
I’m told this will now happen every year - so if you haven’t yet sent in your finances for April 23-24 then send in asap but I’m afraid it’s taking time for them to approve these
ridiculous that the system now means a freeze of at least two months for all self employed carers0 -
Hi I am new here, I have joined because I am self employed I care for my sister and have had my payments stopped because DWP want my income and expenses for 2025-2026. They only requested my income and expenses for 2024-2025 in March. My payments were stopped in 2024 so I was ready to ask for forms in preperation in 2025 and it didnt happen but has this year. I also clain UC who are still deducting my carers allowance so it works out I am approx. £120 short each week. I have to notify UC every month of my income and expenses the UC portal. I would of thoiught DWP could view this, it is a total mess up. I have written to my MP.
