Your PIP review is complete, DWP text

Hi all, well today I received a message from the DWP relating to my PIP review.

"Your PIP review is complete. You should receive your decision letter in 2 weeks. Once you receive your letter, contact us if you have any questions. Do not call before you get the letter as we will not be able to tell you the decision. Please remember to contact us if your circumstances change."

This is the 3rd review I've had over the years but never had a message, but the question is,  is this just a standard message? Is it a message to say my pip  has literally stopped? Or is it likely to be an award?

The thing I can't stand is the apprehension, it was only last week the DWP sent my rates going up for this year (letter) and less that 2 weeks ago they sent me a letter stating my pip was extended for 12 months due to delays and could be completed before hand, and as per the norm the DWP send their cryptic texts, so I've googled and no one has posted any answers to it, has anyone else had this message? If so what were your outcomes? If not, what's this message likely to mean?

Standard message. Some do, some dont get it. Everything is detailed in the text, so not sure what you need to know. You'll get the decision soon. If not what you need, ask for MR and if unsuccessful take the road to the Tribunal.

You can however call, regardless what is says, and ask to know today rather waiting.

So the question was clearly stated in my original post, what are peoples experiences once they have had this text. As in, refuse or award?

People's experience was this: they waited for the letter to know the decision. Text or no text doesn't make a difference. How else to put it?

Some of our members have been awarded, & others not. The text you've received just lets you know a decision has been made, but, as above, you can ring up to ask what that might be.

I don’t think there’s any need for the above post.
The person was clearly only asking for people’s experience.

Really no need to be rude or facetious!

@TheManFromLondon is there really any need to be so rude? There’s absolutely no need for it. Members come here for advice and not to be spoken to this way.

Thanks for the above comments,  in the past dwp didn't send messages from what my experience was, I just got letters,  I asked the question because.

    1. I've been on pip for close to 10 years a never had this new text system just a letter.

    2. I've never had assessments, just sent evidence back and been awarded it.

    3. Due to this being a forum I thought I'd ask the question to see if those who have had a review and then a text to say it's complete had been given the award regardless of assessment. Or whether the award was stopped

From searching the forum, there's a few posts with similarities to this, but they don't come back to say whether they continue to be awarded it or whether it stopped.

The text messages started quite sometime ago. It doesn’t mean anything other than what it states in the text.

We have had many members who have received that text and some have had decisions in their favour and some haven’t.

As advised in the thread you can ring PIP to ask what the decision is and they will tell you, or you can just wait for the letter.

I'm in exactly the same situation. My usual payment is due this week and have no idea whether I'll be getting it renewed or not. It's past 2 weeks now since I got that text message. I tried to call them on Friday and this morning and after getting so far with the prompts I got cut off on both occasions! So it seems the option to call and get the decision over the phone is now blocked. Surely this can't be right?

@Formidible I've tried to call them 4 times today it did go through the security questions and told me the amount I'll be paid this week,  which is the same as usual with the new weekly increase, but then cut me off, don't know if that's promising for me or not tho?

No, you’re not blocked form having the decision over the phone. Try ringing as soon as they open at 9am as that’s usually the best time to ring.

I have had this exact same text and my review was completed on the 11th. I am still waiting for the decision letter but I phoned pip as couldn't stand the waiting and they read the letter to me over the phone. I was awarded PiP again till 2028.

If you don't want to wait for the decision letter you can call PIP and they will go through the letter with you and tell you the decision.

If the call to pip gets cut off this normally means that too many people are calling at the moment and it doesn't have enough room to put you in the queue however try phoning on a different day and you should get through. Avoid mondays when calling PIP and try straight when they open within the week, usually Tuesday/Wednesday is best to call as soon as they open.

Wishing you all the best with your PIP claim.

Update: managed to get through to someone and got the decision, which was positive. The decision was that Amy future review would be ongoing, but as I'm now 66 he told me the review would be in 10 years. It's a relief. Thanks for helping.

    Hi Wowmee

I am in the same boat your were. I too have been on both elements at highest award for the last 10 years. I have NOT been re-assessed whatsoever (as has happened in the past) but simply got that text message out of the blue this morning. Can you tell me what the result was for you and hopefully it was a positive one.

    Many thanks

Only just found this site, really helps me with my anxiety 🙃, I've had the text message that said wait weeks, can I ask anyone how long was their phone call for the review please? And also will I be OK to phone for a result then?
