I have done a dna saliva test for weightloss as I would like to find out why I am having so many problems and need more support does anyone else know how I can move forward with this or know anyone who specialises in this kind of thing I am still riding my bike but need more support as its not a quick thing but a slow one.

Sounds great that you're riding your bike @amazingblazing62
that's a good start.
Have you spoken to your GP about your weight loss plan? Sometimes GP surgeries have details of groups you can join. They might be able to help you talk through a plan that would work for you.0 -

with regards you taking a saliva DNA test, lots of people do this testing and in theory I have no real issue with it as it has its place. What I would highlight and perhaps caution though is that it’s all very well taking the test and receiving the results, but it is the interpretation of the results that matters and for an awful lot of people ( myself included) seeing a list or graphs of various stats and info would likely be a bit baffling and really mean very little.
You have mentioned having various problems and maybe needing more support.I realise not everyone has the means to do this, but my advice for what it’s worth is too seek advice from a registered dietician. They can offer DNA testing and go through the results properly with you. On the back of this they will be able to make a full and importantly healthy plan in order to help you. They will also be able to adjust any plan based on what’s working, what you think isn’t and how following a plan is making you feel….any plan shouldn’t feel like a chore.I realise the NHS have dieticians but I am guessing it would be a slow process getting to the point of being seen by anyone, whereas getting on a waiting list is the easy part…..looking independently can involve an initial outlay but for that you will get results quicker, a professional interpretation of the results and a plan based on those findings….even if you do not continue with the dietician moving forward, it may be that you will gain enough info and advice to follow or make a plan yourself.
Looking online can be a bit baffling and sometimes throw up conflicting advice….i don’t know if I can highlight certain sites, but the mods can always remove or amend as required…..There is a site called the bespoke nutrition coach which offers lots of info about DNA testing….They also offer a free phone discovery call in which they might be able to give you more info….I have no affiliation with this company but had a good look at it and other sites having read your post.
My background is ex military in which for a large part of my time in service was as a Physical training instructor, so I do have a good knowledge of fitness, health and nutrition.
I hope some of what I have said makes sense and hope that moving forward you are able to get the proper advice and help you need….I think it’s great that you have posted and that you are motivated too find support.
please let me know how you get on and feel free to ask questions if you think I can help.
Take it easy

What I should have added is that DNA testing has its place, but even if you didn’t think that was for you and seeking out a dietician wasn’t realistic then my next piece of advice is maybe look at joining a local cycling club, or a walking club or a weight watchers type class. Being a part of a club with likeminded folks can have a huge impact on how you feel, how you see yourself and usually everyone blethers about the same things and problems they might be encountering, and more often than not can give advice or help as they have been there and done that.1
