I have been on lcw for around 2 years and on the 10th of march I reported a change of circumstance due to my health deteriorating, I sent my form off and received a telephone appointment weeks later, the decision came back I would stay on lcw, I asked for a mandatory reconsideration and they came back changing the Decision to lcwra, the email didn't state any indication on a date It would be awarded from, just says there might be a 3 months waiting period but also read that doesn't apply to me as I'm on lcw already, it also says if I'm owed any money I would get a message within 7 days, I'm just curious if I'm owed anything ? I reported the change in the middle of march 2024, no sicknotes was provided as my work coach advised I didn't need to provide any

i was asked also to provide any evidence with the mandatory reconsideration but didn't have any so they went with just the reasons why I disagreed with the decision, not sure if that's relevant

There's no waiting period because you already had LCW before the decision was made. The extra money is paid from the assessment period in which the changes were reported.

Although your work coach advising that fit notes weren't needed was incorrect. When reporting changes to your health condition, fit notes are usually needed. If not providing fit notes goes against you and you have proof that your work coach advised you that you didn't need them and this is on your journal, point them to the proof where they advised that.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately this was said via phonecall with my coach, she did originally say to get a new fit note then changed her mind and said If I report a change of circumstances it would trigger a reassessment form, she then booked me in for another phone call the following month and asked me if I sent the form off and I told her yes but didn't provide any sick notes as advised and she said yes that's fine, I have a call this week with her, not sure if that's going ahead now as I'm on lcwra but will bring it up again and see if she can confirm in my journal that she stated I wouldn't need to upload any sicknotes, I'm not sure if the fact I said to her I haven't seen my GP since I last provided a sick note which would be 2 years ago so my GP wouldn't have any early knowledge of my deteriorating health

Your appointment with your work coach will not be cancelled because you have LCWRA. I would still advise you to put a message onto your journal to ask about the money that's owed to you. If they say you're not entitled to any money owed then tell them that your work coach advised you.
