PIP Review

I recently received my letter for a review and was wondering if there has been little to no change will this mean I shouldn't worry too much?

I've no longer got a team caring for me, my medication wasn't helping so my GP has discontinued it's use, additionally I am now working part-time and I am studying.

There isn't a space to enter these bits of information but the point I'm trying to make I guess is that I'm still struggling with C-PTSD, the only difference now is that I'm receiving less support. The only support I receive is from a therapist/counsellor that I see once a week.

I contacted the clinic that provided me with the treatment and applied for PIP on my behalf, they recommend that I simply fill out the form with the same information I had submitted initially plus any changes.

Will this be enough? I'm just worried.

The most important thing to remember to avoid is that you don't just put no changes, even if there's been no changes. The advice you've already had sounds good to me.

Also make sure to include a couple of real world examples of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you. You should also make sure to include detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.

I agree there's not enough room in the form to include everything so I'd advise you to use additional sheets of paper. I usually type all of mine and then print everything out because I find that easier. If you do this, make sure you state clearly which question it relates to. On the form I usually write "please see extra sheets for information"

You'll most likely need another assessment because most people have them. Delays for review decisions are exceptionally long so you could be waiting as long as a year for a decision. Your current award will continue until a decision is made on your review.

Thank you @poppy123456 for the advice this is fantastic and will implement as much as possible.

I didn't have an in-person assessment initially, will that mean that I will need to prepare for one and what would that look like?

When the traumatic stress clinic did the application form with me, we didn't put too much detail but provided real word examples so will do that again for this one.

You won't necessarily have an in-person assessment. Many assessments are still being done via telephone so there's a good chance you will receive a telephone assessment again. You've already received excellent advice from others and from Poppy so I will just wish you the best of luck! We are here if you have more questions 🙂
