How is your day going?

Five hundred quid @66Mustang ?
I've had holidays that cost less than that.

Yeah the £500 was an extreme example 😂 I know what you mean about the brands! I'm not going to lie, I like nice things and I'm guilty of spending excessive amounts on quality stuff, but I don't see the appeal of a brand name?? Like I'd happily spend lots on a brand no one's heard of if it was better quality than a well known brand

I was the same @66Mustang, I used stone and pounds only until my mid 20s, despite being taught only metric. I think it's because our parents were used to using them when they weighed us as kids? Same as with our height. I still use feet and inches for height (I have no reason to keep track of that at least 😋)

That's a fair explanation I guess!!
Interestingly (or more likely, not), I use imperial for distance as well, so if I have to judge a distance I imagine it as a golf shot, and I always think in yards 😆

Just to add a bit more tragic nerdiness, what I mean is like if something is a few hundred yards away, I imagine things like "oh that's a 3 wood" and if something's a bit closer it would be like a "7 iron" 🙄

See I do distances in metres and centimetres for everything except personal height.
And for some reason, I struggle to use the systems in the opposite way.
If I try to imagine someone 170cm tall, I struggle to do it. But give me their height in feet and inches and I can imagine it fine.
Tell me to imagine a table 2 foot by 2 foot and I struggle to do it, but if it's in metric I have no issue.

@Jimm_Scope have you tried imagining a person laying on the table, or a table stood up against the wall??

….
Oh, well… hmm
You know what I hadn't thought of that.

@Teigr
Oh yeah theyr probably really strong but there’ll be great benefits from them.Aww it’s just the normal Nike for my grandsons but my son and daughter spend a lot on good trainers some are for running so suppose you need good quality.

@Lou67 Yeah I agree and I can understand that. I don't go running but I do lots of walking, I've always bought walking shoes for like £30 and they needed replacing every 6 months. Last November as a treat I got some good walking shoes which were just over £100 and they still look like new, plus they are lots more comfortable as well

@66Mustang
Oh well that’ll work out worth it in the long run, as they will probably last years and comfort is key.
I have a few things wrong with my feet I’ve been attending the podiatrist for years, I’ve bought all the good named trainers and after half an hour I get shooting pains in my feet and I can’t wear them again. I bought a cheap pair off knitted type trainers from Amazon for £22 and I’ve never had them off my feet lol But I do prefer paying more for quality stuff in general but comfort comes first.❤️

Aww that’s rotten it’s horrible I had the same thing for a couple off weeks on and off my nose is still a little blocked. You probably need an antibiotic with it lasting so long. I hope you feel better soon. Lots off love 💕Enjoy your walk I think I will join you from afar lol it’s a beautiful day here didn’t expect it to be as nice.

Hi everyone, we just had a nice walk and are getting a cup of coffee on the way to the shop 😆 I’m parked next to the same car I have but a different colour… I don’t like doing that but there were no other spaces at the time … I think it’s an enthusiast as they have stickers on the car and stuff

I hope you feel better soon @Biblioklept
