Hard to find genuine caring friends in the real world
I hardly go out and consequently have lost my friends. They didn't understand me. One cruelly called me a hermit. I have lots of heath problems

Hey @Marciatulips3, I'm sorry to hear you've had to go through that and hear that. I also have a lot of issues keeping up with people, even online sometimes.
When my Crohn's was very bad I would rarely go out. Honestly my online friends are what kept be sane back then. I really relied on them and managed to get a lot out of my virtual friendships.
I hope maybe you can find something similar here, or some other platform perhaps if this one doesn't work out for you? I hope it does though, the more the merrier 😊

I feel the same. I often spend entire days at home just sitting here grieving and wishing I had someone to care about me on a day to day basis. Disabled people with carers are so lucky!.

Thanks Jim. I don't use social media but I like this site. I hope to meet like minded friends. I know what you mean Joanne. My partner cares for me so I guess I am lucky. Take care both of you.

If you need care have you considered contacting your local authority about a care assessment at all?
Otherwise, I know there are often talking groups in my local library. I wonder if there is some sort of organisation who can do the same kind of thing but visit peoples homes who have difficulty leaving them?
