PIP review outcome
Hi! 👋🏼
so I submitted my appeal in October 2023 and I followed the advice I received here from knowledgeable members who advised me to write the form as if it was my first time applying, which I did.
I also sent them medical evidence in the hope that I will be receiving enhanced mobility and enhanced daily living allowance. However today I received the outcome of the review and my award is still exactly the same. This happened without me getting a phone in person or a video interview. It was just renewed and I don’t think they took into consideration all the evidence I sent.
I called them and I asked to lodge mandatory reconsideration and they told me it could take more than four months to hear back from them.
I’m disappointed because I don’t think they took into account everything. I wrote all the evidence that I sent. I’m looking for any advice or if you have a story of someone who went through this reconsideration and had the decision turned into their favour because looking online all I’m seeing is they don’t overturn the decision. I’m feeling very disappointed.
I’m not sure if any of that made sense, but thank you for reading so far and please comment even if it’s just encouraging words I really need it today. Thank you so much.

Sorry to hear you didn't get the result you were hoping for @Faithlong. It can be a really rough process sometimes, so it's understandable that you're upset about it.
While it can be really stressful having to push forward all the time, it's well worth pursuing if you're feeling up to it. Even if you have to go to Tribunal with it, many members have found that they get some more positive decisions at that level 😊
Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you that you hear back soon and get the result you need! We're all here to chat things through if you need to.

You should put the MR request in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. We don't usually advise you to ring to request it because by doing this, you're relying on what the call handler is typing and there's no guarantee they are typing what you've asked them to.
Whether it's possible to score enough points needed for Enhanced for both parts will totally depend on how your conditions affect you. Not everyone can score enough of points needed for this.
I'd advise you to have a read of this and it will give you more understanding of the descriptors and why they mean.

hi Poppy, thank you so much for replying. You’ve been very helpful. I have always followed your advice even if I wasn’t the one receiving it so for that I thank you! 😊
Just called PIP again and they said that the advisor I spoke to yesterday didn’t put any notes. He just added that I will be sending a letter and supporting evidence.
can you tell me what I should be added in this letter? I have an idea of what I want to write but is there anything that people tend to forget?
Also, should I send support and letters from family?
I will also be included the letter from my GP. Do I need to include letters from other places such as hospitals and treatment centres?
thank you 😊0
