PIP change of circumstances

Good evening,

I have been reading a lot of comments on this site about PIP and people's experiences. I just wanted to share my timeline as I noticed most people post up until they receive PIP then just disappear!

I have been in receipt of standard daily living allowance for the past 7 years, unfortunately my health deteriorated last year and I reported a change of circumstances on March 27 2023, on 8th May I was told I would need an assessment and an appointment was sent for a telephone assessment on 27th June. I had a further telephone call from the DWP decision maker who had a couple of questions on 13th July and a text message on 14th July to say they had made a decision and I would receive my letter in 2 weeks.

Just a heads up that a new condition or change in circumstances has to have been ongoing for 3 months before you report a change.

Good to luck to all those still awaiting a decision ☘️

Thanks for sharing your story, It is great to see a timeline, so it can be compared to other timelines of how long a change of circumstances might take.  It seemed very quick, unlike some people waiting for renewal.  Did you send the form on March 27 or did you ring for a form on March 27th?  And can I ask which region you live in? I am just trying to establish if it is a postcode lottery, luck of the draw or if there is any timeline for a change of circumstance that is across the board. Congratulations on it working out for you, I am happy for you.

Can you withdraw requests for change of circumstances before DWP made the decision ?
