Hey @Catherine21 We all deal with things differently and we don't know what's going on behind the scenes, so sometimes people may react in a way we really weren't expecting. It doesn't mean they're not thankful for any advice, or they don't feel bad later if they say something you see as nasty.

I've seen a few people mentioning that they don't fit in here I understand that at times

I'm sorry you feel that way @Catherine21 though I think we can all feel that way at times. I'm hoping it's just a bit of a blip and you'll feel the warmth of the community again soon. 😊

I think you mean Empathic.
I know you said you don’t always feel like you fit in but this forum really is a place for everyone, it help to join in with some of the more uplifting posts rather than solely focusing on the negative.I’m not saying the posts you make are bad but a lot of people join in on the forums for advice and for the social aspect so it might help you feel better to join in with some of the more light hearted posts such as “What’s for breakfast” or even the games section where lots of fun posts on there(especially beat the admins lol), it’s a nice break from the doom and gloom of the world at the moment.
There’s lots of lovely people who will be happy to include you with the games etc especially the Beat The Admin games

Some of you are so mean to us poor admins with the games. Show mercy haha. 😆
But I definitely agree, they're great for taking your mind off thing for a bit. 😊

I'm very different from Catherine in many ways but I equally sometimes feel this is no place for me. It's a gloss, a pretence, the forum is for everyone and any real discussion is shied away from. Sure the games are fun, but it's a fine line between that and run away and play and don't be difficult. Catherine has serious things on her mind.

We all have serious things on our mind, we're in the same boat, then add our different health problems on top. To keep fretting about what could happen does not help anyone, most of us have it at the forefront of our minds. Nothing has come about yet, we know nothing & won't until the new government announce it. Looking up on different sites doesn't help, it's either clickbait, opinion or tales, as…. nothing has been announced.
It is not gloss, pretense or anything else on here, we're all on this forum as we share being disabled in all sorts of ways, so it's to share experiences, be empathetic, 'chat' with people that have some inkling of how we feel & to seek or give advice & sometimes have a laugh. Politics & religion are never great subjects on a forum or in RL come to that, as it causes more problems than solves & can easily create a bad atmoshphere.
We all need to just wait for official announcements & yes, it's hard.

You proved cantilip and my point it's not for you to gaslight and tell people how they should feel and act ! I cant focus on these things when I'm feeling okish it's patronising let's all act a certain way oh don't mention The L word ... that's labour by the way glad your able to carry on But I'm not and what I have to pretend you stay in your lane and I will stay in mine ! Infuriating

There’s no need to snap at Jessie, they were only pointing out that until the October budget is released everything until then is speculation which is completely accurate, most of the websites and news articles are saying things for click bait(that’s how they make their money) which is doing more harm scaring people which is why people want to avoid the topics until the official budget is released and we know all the facts.
Jessie wasn’t gaslighting you at all, no one is saying people have to act a certain way but we all must follow the forums rules and guidelines, no one is exempt from this(well maybe the Mods).
Yes it’s a scary time we are currently living in but we don’t know anything about what’s coming until the budget is released so please try not to worry and definitely stay away from the click bait articles, it’s awful that these sites are posting fabricated stories that are scaring people when they know about as much as we do at the moment.

In fact a lot has happened showing the sheer ghastliness of those who now govern. We can pretend it hasn't and go on claiming it's perfectly possible Kendall will triple PIP, or we can absorb it and plan accordingly.
Out of curiosity I did an online autism test. Resoundingly not. This strikes me as a mental health forum run by the ND for the ND and the rest of us can go along with it or go away. But Catherine is also I think ND. I think there is something more fundamental than that division here and that's a pervading note of fear. I personally do not give a flying fennec fox who knows who I am. Elsewhere (The Times and Twitter) I post under my real name. I prefer to own my words and I do not mince them. Like Catherine I am not prissy. There is the reiteration here there and everywhere, ooh, it's THE RULES. Like school.
All this bounces off what I said earlier today about Scope. It seems to me this fear of raising one's head above the parapet extends to Scope.

I'm sorry for whatever has offended you @Catherine21 - I've not been on the forum for a few days & can no longer see your earlier comments. I truly believe that the vast majority of people here also show empathy towards all of our members.
I'm also sorry if others feel like they don't 'fit in' with the community, as it is for all disabled people; you've just got to give it a chance. We may have different points of view, but sometimes that's how we learn more, & just because someone disagrees, it doesn't mean they care any less.
My Mum used to say to me that religion & politics are not usually best discussed; something to which I'd totally agree when I see any disharmony here on the community, especially because of the latter. Not everyone will have the same political beliefs for a start, but, from what I've previously seen, again the majority are trying to reassure in saying please don't concentrate on what the last govt may have proposed, nor on the recent spate of media speculation, as the 'what ifs' may never happen, as nothing has officially been said. This is said as we don't want our members to worry needlessly, whilst understanding that some members will continue to worry regardless, which we wish didn't happen.
Scope is for everyone connected by disability, so perhaps it might be better to wait & see if the Autumn budget does affect disabled people, which is when, if it does, we should discuss it.

Very much like school spot on I do have mental health problems that's why I recieve esa and pip I'm severly dyslexic I have to mask everyday it's draining then come on here to express myself Sorry it's not positive can I ask will it be OK on 30th to express my fear terror because it seems it disturbs certain individuals it's like cant act say things well sorry that's not me I live in the real world and playing tiddly wimks won't resolve my problems

I have to agree with what @chiarieds has said and. @Luchia
No one is liking what is going on in the government at the moment, but we can't really speculate what they are going to do, if we don't have information from them.

I don't care who you agree with t

Great, I would like to be like you, but I can't. I keep everything inside, and it hurts and hard.I don't have Facebook or any social media, I changed my phone number, I only have this page .

I fear @Cantilip has got their ND (neurodiverse) & NT's (neurotypicals) muddled up. Scope isn't a mental health forum run by the neurodiverse, nor 'just' for us neurotypicals. Please don't say I don't have at least a slight understanding about those on the autistic spectrum, as my son was said to be 'next door' to the autistic spectrum, & my neighbour & friend is on the autistic spectrum. There's no 'division' here, & no rules other than to remain civil amongst a few others.
That said, no-one is saying you can't express your fears @Catherine21 - least of all myself, tho hopefully wait until we find out more. Look at it from the other side; I personally find it difficult to come on the forum & see endless political speculation. I think we all need to keep informed, & not have mis-information on the forum to keep those like @Agulu safe, don't you agree?

Well said
Couldn’t of worded it better myself, With all the click bait articles causing mass panic at the moment, Scope is like a haven for disabled people to come and chat and get advise from others.
The last thing we need is for the fear monger articles to make it onto here, The articles are absolutely dreadful and are seriously harming people but they won’t care as they get the clicks and that’s how the money is made.
Nothing has been said and won’t be said until the 30th of October when the official budget is released so anything until then is speculation & rumours, I’m sure many are already worried about what could come from the budget but until then it’s best left alone until we have concrete information of what is happening.
I’m not saying the budget shouldn’t be discussed but it should be left alone until we actually know what’s happening to avoid causing unnecessary panic/fear from things that may never happen.
