Hiya @ryleyyg yes unfortunately it can take up to eight weeks before you get your PIP money, it can vary though, so a month isn't too bad! But then you'll get the PIP payment every 4 weeks.

Some people say they received there's before the letter decision, so I'm not sure why that happened to me.

It can vary from person to person. Getting money before receiving a decision letter would be very rare. It will also vary based on if the individual was awarded PIP on the first attempt, or after a MR, or after a tribunal.
From personal experience, I had my first PIP payment about 5 weeks after my award letter, but I received backpay in my account the day before the award letter, which arrived after two weeks from the tribunal.

So I could possibly recieve back pay early

If you're owed back pay, then yes it is possible. But it still takes time for the DWP to crunch all the numbers.

my wife’s pip claim has been live since April. Notice in June only 6 and 4 points. Appeal in progress told by 8th dec. is this a long time. It seems it.

An APA (Alternative Payment Arrangement) is only for Universal Credit. This thread is referring to PIP.

I see this is a very recent PIP award. Money owed is usually paid into your bank 3-5 working days after payment was sent. You can ring PIP to ask what you've been awarded and when to expect the money that's owed into your bank and they will tell you. I would expect it to be paid by the end of next week at the latest.
Then 4 weeks later you'll receive your first 4 weekly payment.
