LCWRA when transferring from UC to ESA. Why do I have to wait out another assessment period?

Hello, I am currently on UC and receiving LCWRA. I applied for ESA, and have been granted this, but they are saying I have to wait for my 93 day assessment period to end before I get the ESA support rate.
Why do I have to wait out another assessment period, when I have already been assessed as having LCWRA? Surely it should mirror over and the support rate be given straight away?
I applied for ESA in July, and my SSP ran out in September.
Thank you.

To be honest it doesn't make any difference anyway because the ESA is just deducted in full from any UC entitlement. Once the ESA increases the deduction from UC will also increase so there's no financial gain.
Although you applied for ESA in July your payments wouldn't have started until 7 days after the SSP ended. The assessment period for ESA is 13 weeks from when payments started and the extra money is from the 14th week.
Is the LCWRA element now included in your UC?

Thanks Poppy, yes I’ve been getting it for a while now.
From what they’ve said in my letter it looks like I’d get more on ESA than UC but I might be wrong. £393.50uc, but £138.20 pw ESA after assessment? I worked that out to be £598.86 per month. I’m new to all this so I’ve possibly got it all wrong.

ignore, I get it now, the ESA is taken off my UC and LCWRA, I was thinking it was just taken off the UC basic element

Yes, that's correct. UC is one benefit made up of many different elements. Your calculation for the deduction once the ESA increases is correct.
