Rent, and son now working full time.

Hoping someone can advise on this please. I am claiming UC and LCWRA. Earlier this year, money was deducted from UC as my son turned 21. He has now finished Uni and started full time job recently. Do I need to notify UC of this change and will it affect my claim?
I have notified Council Tax already.
Thankyou.

Lovely to see you posting, I hope you're well? You should report the changes just to keep them informed but the non dependant deductions will remain the same because it's a standard amount for UC regardless of their income.
I can't remember if your PIP includes the daily living part? if it does then you're excluded from non dependant deductions.
Good luck to your son with his job!

Thankyou Poppy🤗 Hope you are keeping well. I’m not too bad thanks. I’m not on daily living, just the mobility part.
I dread reporting anything new, as worried sick they’ll deduct more! I will of course do so though. Your advice as always is very much appreciated. Did you hear yet about your review decision? Fingers crossed all was ok.

Aww you're welcome. 🤗 Well, I'm plodding along slowly. Glad you're not too bad.
The deduction will not change due to it being a standard amount of £91.47/month so please try not to worry.
Funny you should ask about my review. Only yesterday a decision maker/case manager rang me to ask me some questions. The call lasted for about 10 minutes and he wanted to know when my conditions got worse. He thanked me for answering the phone and told me that he would be making his decision by the end of tomorrow (which is today) and I should receive a letter within 7-10 days. I haven't had an assessment so if a decision is made it will be paper based. Hopefully, it will be good news and my award will continue.

Poppy, do you know if I’d still be getting single person discount on Council Tax? I have notified them of sons circumstances, and they’ve now hiked the payments up. I was receiving council tax support, and paid £21 a month. Now it’s £166 a month. I’ve not received a letter yet from them.

You would no longer be entitled to single person discount for Council tax.
As your son has changed from being a university student to a full time resident at your address. And as he works he is expected to contribute financially.
