Please ignore previous one - want to go back & remove the quote & posted instead & can't delete.
Anyway, back to my favourite subject - Halloween. I love all things gothic (except spiders) & Halloween decorations are house decor all year round for me.
I've even had the opportunity to incorporate it into my job - I'm an actor & loved my 3 years of being a scare actor at Hallowscream at York Maze. Sadly, didn't get cast this year - was deeply traumatised by that (oh the joys of Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria) but I digress.
My favourite horror genre is vampires; except Twilight - vampires are not sparkly, they're dark, sadistic, sexual beings & I love them. Anne Rice is or should I say was, my favourite author (sadly she passed away a couple of years ago) & I'm lucky enough to own a signed copy of her last novel.
The image is of me in my character from last year - part scientist, part android.

I definitely believe.. when I was six my grandad died, some months later I was staying at my nans & I was in bed but could see light coming from the other side of the room,I turned over & there was grandad sounded by a brilliant light,he smiled & said I'm alright lad I'm alright then faded away,I wasn't scared as I knew it was grandad & I even pinched my arm to convince myself I was awake.I didn't tell my nan or mum as I didn't want to upset them, around ten years later I did tell my mum & she said the same had happened to her around eighteen months after grandad died.. As an adult I have seen apparitions a few times,so for the sceptics yes ghosts spirits whatever you want to call them are real.

When I was little my family lived in this old house which we rented. It was always cold in some areas. One day myself , I can't remember and my older sister went into one of the bedrooms and there was a man sitting on the bed. My sister thought at first it was our eldest brother who had come home on leave from the army, next minute it was gone.
Also when my youngest brother was a baby, mum heard footsteps upstairs and went up , he was tightly wrapped up in his blanket. The same happened my nephew. my older sister was staying with my brother in law looking after one of the dogs while we were away. She went back home with our dog. My younger brother has often seen things when we lived at our next house growing up.

Hello everyone,
Firstly just to say how Iโve really enjoyed hearing your spooky experiences.
My sister bought a house and right from the first night she heard banging down the stairs. Lights would go on and off. They all started to see an elderly lady in a white nightdress. My sister has a husband and two boys now in their 20s.
One evening in the local pub my sister got chatting to a lady about her house. The lady said that my sister had bought her mums house and her mum had died while walking down the stairs and had tripped and passed away in the house. Her name was Vera.
Vera is often seen wearing a white nightdress. My nephew saw Vera in a red dressing gown once. Their cleaner left after just seeing a face which appeared black in colour and she refused to clean for my sister after that.
I have felt chilly on hot summer days in certain parts of my sisters house and Iโve seen the door to the utility room open by itself.
If my sister hears a sudden scream from anyone in the house itโs because theyโve seen Vera.
All four members of the family had never believed in ghosts but they do now.0 -
100% I believe. I use to be a paranormal investigator.
I've also heard and felt a dog who had passed over. .There's nothing about the paranormal that frightens me, it's the living I'm afraid of.
Ghosts can be attatched to the very fabric of a building, there are many residual hauntings , I've always found the entire thing fascinating.
We did a paranormal night in a very old cinema, the guy with us couldn't cope and rushed out ,so i sat In his seat waiting to see or feel what he did, there was noone beside me ,my then partner was 8 seats away ,no one to the front ,back or other side of me, my chair got pushed violently. Then my Mel meter went off.
I've done the Edinburgh vaults, cemetery tour at night. I understand some don't belive, my ex partner didn't. Does now. ๐ป๐

The phrase for me is ...they won't hurt you...always gets to me, I gather people say it to offer themselves comfort.
One night, when a group of us were leaving work, we were all gathered in a corridor which leads to the out side door. One of our male colleagues were talking to us all as we walked down this corridor, when suddenly he shouted " ow" we turned round to see him holding his ear, looking shocked. He said. " Something has just pulled my ear lobe down."
We were concerned as he was not joking, the look of shock on his face. Lots of incidents at work I could tell .

I'm just catching up on everything after a couple of days away. I'm so glad that so many of you have had positive experiences with spirits and I love reading about them. I see it can be quite comforting to feel the presence of a loved one but I'm not sure how I'd feel about it. My brain would overthink it and worry that they're watching me all the time!

What if I'm just super interesting to watch @eeL ๐ No that makes sense, there'll be other people they'll want to watch over. I think maybe they'd want to watch over their friends too, not just family, I know I would. I've never felt like I've had a guide, but maybe I've just not been open to it.

Spill the beans @Sandy_123! I want to hear more please ๐

You have such a lovely way with words @eeL. I definitely like to talk things through with people when I'm unsure of something. An on-demand spirit guide would be quite handy! I'd love to try and connect with someone but I still think I'd come away skeptical if I did make 'contact'. I just can't decide if I believe or not, but I do love talking about it and hearing other's experiences.

So another one of many from work...
We were waiting to finish our late shift, I could see a colleagues husband in the car park, waiting to pick her up, as he had his car reversed Infront of the window. We left and went home, next day she said that while her husband was waiting, he was waving to a lady in the room opposite and she was waving at him He had asked her who it was when she got in the car, she asked him which room and he pointed to one of the empty rooms.
Needless to say he was very surprised as we all were, but we weren't totally surprised, as this lady had been spotted around the building by others, including an early morning cleaner, who saw the lady tapping on a locked door to her, as she cleaned.

Hi ,
i would like to write here please that i do believe and i know that people through their conscious or unconscious actions can open themselves to the effects of evil and attract demons and evil entities into their life and the spiritual fight can be very arduous and long and help is really difficult to get and find ,demons can harass people in their sleep and also through other means and even throw them across the room , when i went to church the priest at the end of the mass prayed to Archangel Michael asking for his protection , sometimes some people use white sage to cleanse a certain space with the smoke of white sage and for spiritual cleaning , i personally really liked the smell of burnt white sage
i had a friend who kept a lot of books written by authors who discussed the topic of possession and wanted to help people in their spiritual battle , personally for me this is a very serious subject
Kind regards

Myself and my mum used to have a border collie dog, who sadly died over night. A day or two later, our younger dog started to act strange. One thing our collie used to do was nudge our shoes off when we were sitting down. I felt it , it was just like misty had done when she was alive. I told my mum, a couple of days later. She also said she felt the same.
I think she came back to let us know that's she's was ok. She suffered from epilepsy in her life

@Agnia very interesting thankyou for sharing
Wow @eel that's crazy isn't it to think. Enjoyed reading yours too.
My grandson who was 2 at the time or a bit younger and wasn't able to talk properly, told me had seen a dog upstairs at home. I've seen many things here but not a dog, any way I didn't take much notice, but every time we climbed the stairs he would call out doggy doggy.
The building was part of the church grounds at work @eeL and was built on part of the cemetery

Hi Sandy ,
Thank you very much
i know it may be hard to believe but demons really are capable of throwing people across the room and that real exorcists rarely speak publicly and it is very difficult to reach them and the person can be possessed and mentally ill at the same time
Please take care
Kind regards to you
