Housing element
Hello all.
I have been on universal credit since 2019 and during covid I moved in with my mother and started claiming housing benefit which was granted. I’ve been in review since July and I submitted everything they asked for including bank statements, pictures at home and tenancy agreement which my both our names are on. They also asked for consent from me to contact my landlord which I did. When I cashed my landlord he says he did not receive any emails or calls from them. They came back to me saying that they are stopping the housing element as they can’t verify where I live. Should I contest their decision as I really feel like they have made a wrong decision. If so what is the best and quickest to do so as I not be able to pay my rent next month.

Yes you should contest it. The formal way to do that is via a Mandatory Reconsideration. Though in the first instance I would use the UC journal to try and settle the matter without going through that. Maybe they have the wrong contact details for the landlord. Could you ask them to double check the email and phone number they have for the landlord?

I'm on housing benefit got a letter just saying been randomly selected send tenency bank bills rent in leaving me feeling really uneasy why I have noting to hide but hear they done this to somebody else ?

Are you with housing association??

This is because they are reviewing your housing benefit. They sometimes review people at random, it's normal.
