I've had to hand in tenency rent statements bank details benefit review so stressful I did help a lady she had same thing hers was stopped because she had 19 grand savings best to call them

They've paid up until the day before my review was due which is only three payments instead of four.

What?! room TOO big?

I have had another letter this morning.
They are deducting £32.50 because my accommodation is too big.
@egister I am on an old system for HB as I didn't trigger a move to the new one. However there has never been a maximum size a room can be.
How can I be taking up too much space, are you meant to be renting a box room or cupboard under the stairs on benefits!?!

Sounds like bedroom tax ? But you live in one room

Yes it's shared accommodation, there is no spare room.
I don't get the LHA rate for the area as I didn't trigger a change. So they've been "underpaying" for years, leaving me to top up the difference. I can't make a new claim as that will trigger UC, so will just have to hope that UC is better. (yeah like that's what it's designed for)
The only plus point is I have learnt in regards to my council so this isn't necessarily a blanket rule, that they query anything in your bank in or out that is more than £500.

Not everyone goes online my neighbour ways takes money out as he has no Internet he will get a shock I won't worry him I had benefit review had to send bank statements in to council horrid waiting always feel like in trouble treat everyone like fraudsters

If you know your neighbour well enough to know what he does with his finances, it suggests you are on friendly enough terms to give them a heads up about the benefits.
I would however try not to discuss other people on a forum.

He's in hospital I will mention I read on Internet I don't think he will listen he has no smart phone or Internet so they will be doing this to alit of people who draw cash out and then what they say to me about my purchases shouldn't be thier business

This is my LHA remember, if you have been asked to provide statements, you may or not be asked why.

How do you know that they will review everyone that withdraws cash? Do you have a link to confirm what you say?
2 -
No but have heard a few people say this only on hear say agreeably

It’s perfectly normal to be reviewed sometimes for housing benefit. I’ve had them in the past too.
1 -
its now part of the norm to be reviewed as councils have been told by the dwp they have to review so many a month and my council has to review 40 a month. names are picked at random also.

It's normal to be reviewed what isn't normal for some people is why they query certain things.
I shouldn't have to confirm that my income on the statements is what I already told them on the forms, because they didn't understand why it wasn't marked as esa or dwp. (it will be in the future that account is being changed to a card by the bank with monthly statements)
However they have a £500 rule so anything in or out gets flagged.
It's pretty much a waste of tax payers money to be reviewing anyone on ESA when we are waiting to migrate. They know I am, because they write and deduct my rent every April!!

I always feel I'm going to get in trouble it's crazy I'm ahead in rent been here 22 years no trouble why I worry so much I don't know

I think it's because it's unexpected.
It seems normal to worry. It will pass, mine did.
