can my partner claim carers element for me if we are both assessed as having LCWRA?
hi, me and my partner have a joint universal credit claim, we both got assessed as having LCWRA (I receive the payment) can my partner claim carers element for me if we are both assessed as having LCWRA because he does not get the payment it’s me who gets it? I was also awarded pip in June. Also does it deduct our normal uc payment if we get the carers element thank you

Hey there @louise93 and welcome to the community.
I'm still learning about the many different rules for UC, so I'm afraid I cant answer all of your questions, but I know we have some super smart people here who will know the definite answers.
I just wanted to stop in and give you a quick welcome and let you know I've moved your discussion to the Universal Credit category, where more people in the know will be able to see it. I hope that's ok?

Yes, your partner can claim carers element for looking after you providing your PIP includes the daily living part. Carers element isn't deducted from UC, it actually increases your maximum UC entitlement by £198.31/month.
For your partner to claim carers element they will need to report a change of circumstances and click caring for someone. Then report caring for you this way.

thank you for the reply, he did the change last night, would they ask me why we waited so long to report this? Also will this be backdated from June, he put in the date from June when he started caring for me
