I just want to ask, If you currently receive LCWRA, What is the wording you have on the UC Work Group and My Commitments sections?

LCWRA = Limited Capability for Work and Work Related Activity

Your commitments should only be to check the journal regularly and to report any changes as soon as possible.

Have you got a UC statement in the payments section yet? That should show the wording I wrote above with an additional payment of £416.19.

If you're in the work group, that is just LCW, without 'work related activity' at the end. There is no additional money for that.

I get LCWRA and this is my only commitment (the contact details extend downwards)

Thanks for the reply Kimmy87, That’s the same wording as mine, In my work plan it says:-

    Work plan

Updated by an agent on 28 October 2022

    Jobs

I am not required to look for or apply for jobs at this time. I will be told if this changes.

    Activities

I do not have any work related activities I have to do at this time. I will be told if this changes.

But I’m in the LCW group according to my original letter, I am now guessing the wording for both LCW and LCWRA, is the same? which confuses me! I asked the original question as if I’m not being asked to look for work, And I don’t have any work related activities to complete, I assumed that wording would mean I would be in the LCWRA group.

if anyone can clarify this please reply. Many Thanks

If you are unsure about which group you are in, have a look at your payment statement.

Listed on there will either be LCWRA £416.19 or LCW £0.00

Hi Kimmy87, I know what work group I’m in, I just don’t understand if I’m not being asked to look for work or do any work related activities, why am I in the LCW group and not LCWRA?

When was your Work Capability Assessment?

There is a waiting period before the LCWRA element is paid.

But you are 100% sure you're in the LCW group?

If so I don't know the answer to your question I'm afraid.

Yes I’ve been in the LCW group since October 2022, Hence even though I’m not expected to work or look for work or do any work related activities, I’m getting £0.00!! I don’t get it, that’s why I asked my original question?. Anyway thanks very much for replying.

When you're in the LCW group, your work coach has the discretion to turn off some or even all of your work related commitments.

So your commitments won't necessarily be the same as someone else on LCW.

However, I agree it seems strange that you were only awarded LCW, but your work coach still doesn't believe you are ready to do any work related activity 2 years on. I suspect what has happened is that you've been 'forgotten' since your commitments were switched off.

As I see it, you have two choices now. Either make a change of circumstances to trigger another WCA in the hope of being awarded LCWRA with the additional money moving forward. OR just leave it as it is if not wanting to rock the boat and go through another assessment.

Also, can I just check whether you're a carer? Carers don't have any work related commitments.

Thank you OverlyAnxious for this reply. I’m not a carer. I have moaned about it for ages but it always fell on deaf ears. Back in August 2023 my medication for COPD and Anxiety and Depression was increased, At that time I called to check if I needed to inform them of this, and I was told I only needed to report a “new” condition, but about 3 months ago I was told I should have informed them through my journal! Any way I moaned again and they agreed for me to have another WCA which I did two weeks ago, If I’m not awarded LCWRA I will appeal it as I haven’t been asked to work look for work or do any work related activities for over two years, And I’ve been told I don t have to attend any meetings at the job centre (last one was January 2024! TBH I think this a a farce and they want to keep me on LCW as it’s not costing them anything!
