Good evening,
We've removed several posts by multiple members from this discussion because they were either uncivil, continued an argument from another discussion, or became unclear due to the removal of related comments. Over the course of this evening and tomorrow, we will also be reaching out to several members individually to discuss this further.
While it’s important that members feel free to discuss matters openly, we kindly remind everyone to follow our house rules.
We recognise that tensions are high within the community at the moment and that emotions are running strong. Please remember that written text can often be misinterpreted, so we encourage all members to extend the benefit of the doubt to one another whenever possible.
To allow tensions to cool, we will be leaving this discussion paused overnight so that any continuation of arguments can be monitored and addressed by the team.

absolutely disgraceful, so if you feel you can't work you've basically decided to be "written off"
what sort of way is that to talk?

Paul McNamara: But you’re still looking at a massive reduction in the welfare bill. The Resolution Foundation says that more than 400,000 people could lose as much as £400 a month. That will put them into poverty. You’ll be responsible for putting people into poverty.
Liz Kendall: Those were the Conservatives’ proposals, not ours.
Paul McNamara: But you’re still going to shed the £1.3 billion from the bill?
Liz Kendall: We will bring forward our own proposals, which start with the very different premise, which is believing in the equal rights of disabled people, including to work.
this is interesting

That's the only problem i have with this poster. It gives off Arbeit macht frei vibes.
Note from moderator; Ironside is talking about the actual poster Nightcity posted.1 -
I've not taken it like that at all. Many disabled people think if they have a disability or a new health condition, they're instantly written off from working life and Labour want to make sure the option to work is there for them. That's how I've taken it.1 -
Well lets see if they can find us all a job including me.

They want to apply new rules to new applicants..the conservatives wanted to change the eligibility rules and take away mobility issues, continence problems and wether the jobs could pose a danger to a claimant...Labour now say they will do their own consultation..no doubt they read the 16k responses to the Conservative one...the idea that they will respect extremely ill people must be in doubt since they have already declared vast savings will be made..that's before the new consultation or rules.. stinks of fish and political **** to me
