On the 13 11 24 my motabillty vehicle was impounded by the police @ the time I was being treated by The ambulance service and was transferred to hospital, the police said the vehicle was causing an obstruction and impounded it.

Motabillty have said because of the impound I've breached the agreement and the lease will be cancelled and they will collect the vehicle, they say I can't appeal the decision

Does anyone have any advice

Thank you.

I have no advice personally but could citizens advice or welfare rights help you with this? Surely they can’t do this, you have proof of why it happened and you weren’t at fault! So sorry your going through this 😔

    Hi,

Does it definitely say you can't challenge the decision on the letter?

It does say they'll look at each case on an individual basis on the website.

You may need to contact someone higher up at Motability than just the standard call centre staff.

The conversation I've had with the case manager on the phone with just says I need to wait for the letter that will tell me when to return the vehicle

    Thanks

There should be information on the letter about how to appeal the decision.

Some forum members have also had good results contacting someone high up at Motability. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly which person it was but they had a direct email I believe.

Hi how did this turn out? If its upsetting then thats fine not to answer. My mums car has to be returned. It has a tracker, which we know. Motability are claiming misuse. My mum has been entitled to a car as long as I remember. We never needed one. I took mum everywhere in my vehicle, for over 18 years Covid hit and things changed, mum got older and less mobile. Ppl that helped her no longer can.I no longer own my own car. Im 11 miles away a 25 min journey each way in a car. Public transport is a 2.5 hr journey at least. All these years we never used motability. When we do they claim misuse. They said doing what normal grandparents do is not beneficial to a paranoid schizophrenic, with mobility issues. I understand that Ppl have and do misuse vehicles. Many of who are the person the car is registered to or a parent/gaurdian who lives at the same adress. The vehicles are the disabled persons. They are priority. Sometimes doing the right thing doesn't count. It seems motability have gone from not checking, to over checking. Its sad many genuine people will miss out.

No it didn't. I get what you mean. No matter what you comment these days someone finds fault or takes it out of context.
