Invite your MP to our event in Parliament
Hi everyone ๐
Scope are running an event in Parliament on 4 December for International Day of Disabled People. We'd love for your MP to be there.
MPs will hear first hand from disabled people about their stories of facing extra costs, struggling to access employment, and experiencing negative attitudes. And they'll learn how they could work better with disabled people to tackle these issues.
Scope campaigners have already invited 548 MPs. Make sure your MP is one of them - they're more likely to come if you ask them to!
Invite your MP using our online tool this week. And let me know if you have any questions.

Hi @Tori_Scope - I hope you're keeping well. I've invited my MP; if I hear back from him, & he's always been responsive, I'll let you know.

I've not had a reply to anything I've sent to my MP, but I've still sent them this message. One day they may take notice. ๐

I'm a bit cold, but not too bad thanks @chiarieds ๐ I hope you're well!
That'd be great, thanks so much - fingers crossed he's able to come.

I'm sorry to hear this, @Andi66! I know it can be really frustrating when we don't feel our MP is listening to us, or representing our views. This event could give them the opportunity to learn more about how to better represent their disabled constituents, and understand the challenges they might face. But there's no pressure to invite your MP if you'd prefer not to ๐ You could always share the action with people you know, to encourage them to invite their own MPs.

Hopefully one day @Albus_Scope ๐ญ

Hi Albus , been having problems viewing emails yesterday and today, uc migration being one, just comes up not found

Hello @Andi66. Albus isn't around today. Do you think you would be able to forward one of those emails to the community account so we could look into the issue? You are not the first person to mention it.

I invited my MP and she also doesn't care and never replies , but I sent it anyway .

I did invite my MP but didn't hear anything back. Will you be keeping a record of which MPs do attend? I'd be interested to see if that would be possible.

I'm sure someone kept notes on who showed up @SarahT41 I'll ask and see if it's something we can share with the community.
1 -
Sorry for the delay in my reply to you @SarahT41! We did indeed keep notes of which MPs came, as @Albus_Scope has said ๐ I've been told I can't share a list of who attended, but I can say that 43 MPs attended in total.

43 out of a total of 548 invited thats very encouraging for the disabled population ๐

Thanks for getting back to me @Tori_Scope , that's a shame you're not able to share who attended. Thanks again

Hello @SarahT41, you could ask your MP whether they attended? They should be able to share that information with you. ๐

I will try @Morgan_Scope but I'm yet to ever receive a reply about anything I've ever sent him! Keep trying

๐ฎ You're not the first person to have that experience but I still find it shocking!
