Hi everyone πŸ™‚

Scope are running an event in Parliament on 4 December for International Day of Disabled People. We'd love for your MP to be there.

MPs will hear first hand from disabled people about their stories of facing extra costs, struggling to access employment, and experiencing negative attitudes. And they'll learn how they could work better with disabled people to tackle these issues.

Scope campaigners have already invited 548 MPs. Make sure your MP is one of them - they're more likely to come if you ask them to!

Invite your MP using our online tool this week. And let me know if you have any questions.

Hi @Tori_Scope - I hope you're keeping well. I've invited my MP; if I hear back from him, & he's always been responsive, I'll let you know.

I've not had a reply to anything I've sent to my MP, but I've still sent them this message. One day they may take notice. πŸ˜‰

I'm a bit cold, but not too bad thanks @chiarieds πŸ™‚ I hope you're well!

I'm sorry to hear this, @Andi66! I know it can be really frustrating when we don't feel our MP is listening to us, or representing our views. This event could give them the opportunity to learn more about how to better represent their disabled constituents, and understand the challenges they might face. But there's no pressure to invite your MP if you'd prefer not to πŸ™‚ You could always share the action with people you know, to encourage them to invite their own MPs.

Hello @Andi66. Albus isn't around today. Do you think you would be able to forward one of those emails to the community account so we could look into the issue? You are not the first person to mention it.

I did invite my MP but didn't hear anything back. Will you be keeping a record of which MPs do attend? I'd be interested to see if that would be possible.

I'm sure someone kept notes on who showed up @SarahT41 I'll ask and see if it's something we can share with the community.
