Do they always ask for bank statements and how long do u have to obtain said documents

Yes they always ask for bank statements, I had I think two weeks to submit mine but that was last September.

That’s treated as capital and not income. Capital of less than £6,000 is ignored.

There’s nothing to worry about if your capital is less than £6,000.
