Hi,
People do claim PIP and work. That does not automatically entitle you to LCWRA on UC as the criteria is different.
Are you currently receiving legacy ESA or IS?

If you are under state pension age then you are treated as a mixed aged couple. This means the only benefit possible to claim will be Universal Credit. You will need to claim this as a couple and your joint circumstances will be taken into consideration.
Your husbands state pension will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement. You will not automatically be treated as having LCWRA for yourself because you are under state pension age.
If your husband claims either Enhanced daily living PIP, DLA high rate care or AA high rate then he will automatically be entitled to the LCWRA element. If this doesn't apply then you will need to report your health condition and provide a fit note when you claim.
You will then be referred for a work capability assessment and if found to have LCWRA then you'll be entitled to the LCWRA element from the 4th month after you provided your first fit note.
Use a benefits calculator to check entitlement.

In that case, you can apply for UC as a mixed age couple. You would need to go through a Work Capability Assessment to prove that you are unfit for work though. The PIP award is not relevant for this.

Hi @wrix12 welcome to the online community. I can see you've had some advice from community members so won't add anything for now, but let us know how you get on and if you need anything else.
I hope you don't mind but I've added a bit of additional detail to your title just to help others in the community easily find it if they've got some input that would help, or if they'd themselves benefit from your post. Hope that's ok.
I hope you enjoy your time on the forum. If you have an opportunity, I'd recommend having a look at the categories. There's some great community chats ongoing. I personally love "coffee break" and "games den", just for something light hearted.
Best wishes,
Holly.
