That will depend whether there’s a marker on your file. If there is your PIP should not stop if you don’t return them. If there isn’t then it could stop or be suspended at least. 😞

I see the forms have to be returned by 26th so they are unlikely to receive them now even if you just quickly wrote something on the forms.

    I really do wish I had a solution for you but I’m sorry, I don’t. 😔

I don't have time now, even if I could write it all today, I'd have to post tomorrow and hope they arrive Tuesday, and get scanned on the same day as no post on 25th or 26th 😅 I feel too unwell so just giving up and will reapply in a few months or something.

Have ESA even responded to your bank statements??

You turning them upside down made me giggle as I do the same so I don't have to look! Or shove them in a drawer 🤣

I had a friend who used to call places and pretend to be me for me, but I forgot to reply to them for a while and now it would be weird for me to reach out just to ask for a favour 😣

Getting Christmas out of the way first sounds like a good plan, I hope your review goes okay and if I can help at all please say!! I'm much better at helping others and doing stuff for them then I am for myself lol

Thank you @poppy123456! It's my own fault I didn't get round to doing them, nothing anyone else could have done! I'm just not in the right space to deal with it at the moment so will have to take the hit ❤️

It will be interesting to see if there is a marker on my file though

I feel like if you could at least get them into the post by 24th - either with proof of posting or even just a timestamped photo of you putting the envelope into a postbox - then that would help you get the PIP reinstated more easily if it does stop. If you don't make any attempt to get the forms in before the deadline then that doesn't look so good from their end if you haven't got a vulnerable marker.

For what it's worth, I don't think it is weird for you to reach out to your telephone friend in a moment of need after a few months without contact. They must be aware of your conditions to some extent, and I'm sure they would rather help you get an extension on the deadline now, or get PIP reinstated if it does stop, than find out that you've lost a chunk of income a long way into the future.

I haven't had anything back from ESA at all, not even a confirmation. It's really not a priority for me though, my living situation is a far greater issue right now, and that's obviously not going to change within the next few weeks.

@Biblioklept, could you perhaps write as much as you can today and then send it off tomorrow? As reviews are taking almost a year, you could always send additional information or any parts you haven't had time to finish separately. That way, you'll have returned the form on time but can still cover everything in detail without the pressure of trying to complete it all tonight.

I also agree with @OverlyAnxious, I don’t think it’s weird, nor do I think your friend will mind you reaching out for help, especially if they've done so for you in the past. If I had a friend facing the same issue, I’d much rather they ask for help than feel worried and try to cope alone.

I haven't returned the forms or contacted them, what do I do here? Will I have to make a new claim or should I return the forms even though they are very late? I haven't heard anything from PIP at all

Did you still get this months payment?

I'm surprised they haven't sent anything, I would have expected a reminder if you had a marker on file.

If it was mine I'd still try to send the forms in. Though I don't think I've seen this exact situation before.

You can call and request an extension. If they automatically stop your PIP I believe you can still send in an MR as it's a decision they've made.

Did you receive a reminder to return the form? These are automatically generated so I would have expected you to have received one.

If your PIP payments have continued then I’m going to say that there’s likely a vulnerable marker on your file. If this is the case your review will continue regardless of a form being returned.

Ringing them isn’t an option for you because I know you can’t do that.

If you can still fill in the form and return it then you should do that. Other than that I don’t advise you to reapply, not that you could anyway if your payments are continuing.

    @OverlyAnxious @poppy123456

Thank you both!! I got my payment on the 3rd of Jan which is about a week after my forms were due back but with all the weekends and bank holidays between maybe they hadn't issued the stop notice? I really don't know

I don't think I've had any letters from them, I do have a pile of post to go through as I've not kept on top of anything but none are in brown envelopes so I don't think any are PIP but maybe I'm wrong. I will try and get the forms sorted this week and send them off anyway, do I add any notes to say why they're so late??

Thanks @Jimm_Scope, I can't use the phone so this isn't possible for me anyway but also I don't think they would accept an extension request since it's already nearly a month past the date my forms were due back 😅

Good to hear you still got the payment at least. 🙂

I'm fairly sure I've had letters from PIP in white envelopes. If you have a pile of post, the reminder could well be in there.

Yes, I would just add a sentence or two in the 'extra information' to say that you've been physically and mentally unwell lately as an explanation to why the forms are being returned late.

I can confirm that letters are now in white envelopes and not brown. For my recent PIP review all envelopes were white. I’m sure they changed this quite sometime ago.

I thought I saw on news they were changed to white but my review stuff definitely came in brown. I can't face the pile of paperwork but I've answered three questions on the form today and given myself a deadline of early Thursday as I've arranged parcel collection to get it sent.

My next payment is due next week so I'm not expecting to receive it

I did itttttttttttttttt!! I don't think I went into the detail I usually do and I'm concerned as a result I won't get another paper based, but at least I did them! Now the very very very long wait to find out 😫 are reviews about a year??

Yay! Go you!! The good thing is, you sent it! Yes, about a year for the majority of people.

    Thank youuuuuuu ❤️

I got a text from them the day after it was sent saying they had received it so assume it's already been scanned onto their system? I'm hoping that them acknowledging receipt means they'll still accept it too

Wow that was quick for them to add it to the system. Yes, they should accept it, if the worst did happen and your PIP stopped, they should now restart it and continue to pay you as normal. Fingers crossed you will receive your next payment as normal.
