one of the questions on housing is confusing me.

it asks for rent but says to exclude cost of service charge do I subtract service charge and give them that number ?

What that mean they would not pay the service charge ?

Put your full rent amount down including the service charge.

As you rent from social housing, UC will ask Landlord to confirm amount.

Your LL will probably include the service charge breakdown in their confirmation.

Some service charges UC will pay, others they don't.

it asks have you stopped working in the last 9 months ?

I’ve been out of work now some 5 years

so do I select no or yes ?

You haven't stopped work within the last 9 months, so you answer no.

    under savings

it asks do you have any savings accounts ?

    I don’t but my child do ?

is this where I tell them about it or is it after if I personally have one ?

Only accounts in your name need to be included

I see so as it is in their name I can click no.

that said they are just savings accounts not Isa’s or trust funds

is that still ok to say no ?

    Under the section caring

Are the asking about caring for a child for example with a health condition or like appointments collecting medication etc or does that fall more on the side of being a parent ?

thank you so much for the help I’d be lost without the help and support I get from here.

You really do make a difference, very much appreciated.

We are happy to help but why not get in touch with the Citizens Advice Help to Claim service.

Someone can help you in real time, rather than you posting here each time and then having to wait for a reply.

I’ve built up a level of familiarity here and feel comfortable rather than talking to CAB which is a fair point if ive over asked.

Caring for a child refers to a child that claims a disability benefit such as DLA mid/high rate care or PIP daily living. They ask about this because you can claim carers element for looking after them. Unless you’re migrating from ESA Support Group then your UC would include the LCwRA element for yourself. The same person can receive both elements at the same time so only the LCWRA element would apply.

Carering for them includes everything you do for that child.

Yes you have 28 days to submit the form, otherwise you'd have to start again.

I don't know the answer to your second question.

The "submit" button appears when all questions have been answered.

as I need a break from yesterday before I start again and don't want them to call me or anything before I can finish. I've found it stressfull to be honest but its is all most done.

No, they won't be able to do that because you haven't submitted the claim.

Great, I thought I would be asked for ID somewhere in all those questions but it hasn't come up.

Is this asked for afterwards ?

Yes, you will need to confirm your identity once you submit the claim, if this can't be done online you will need an appointment for this. If you can't attend in person you can ask for a telephone appointment and they can do a biographical appointment. For this you will be asked questions only you will know the answer to, such as who you bank with, your date of birth etc etc.
