    GB next?

I have always said and I will say again - do not mix LGBT and disabled people. You can see the negative consequences yourself.

They won't be told. They think he's the Messiah.

We are all in danger from these extremists..

He's planning on imposing import tariffs on all other countries plus giving tax relief on other nations companies who transfer to US - thus ensuring that the US prospers at the expense of the rest of the world ! How nasty is that ?

Some of the executive orders he's pushed through really concern me if I'm honest

I understand that global issues, like those involving Trump, are important to some, but I find it hard to understand why some people are so fixated on them when there are serious problems here in the UK. With the challenges we face daily, I believe our focus should be on addressing our own government’s shortcomings and issues that directly impact our lives, rather than importing problems from abroad. Personally, I am more concerned with the direction of travel with Starmer than with Trump.

But what happens in the US affects us all. The whole world

    @Wibbles

Yes, I understand that international policies, like those in the US, can have some impact, but the real focus should be on homegrown issues that directly affect our daily lives here in the UK. We are facing huge challenges with potential welfare cuts, which would devastate disabled people, and government policies are now directly harming UK businesses.

While global events matter, the changes happening right here in our country are the ones that will have a more immediate and lasting effect on us. Domestic policies should always take priority because they directly shape our lives . Foreign policy has its place, but right now, in my opinion, our attention must be on what’s happening in the UK, particularly the Labour government’s homegrown policies, which are causing more damage to businesses and citizens than any import or export tariffs ever could.

    DEI

A memo, followed by an executive order, has shut down all the offices of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programmes within the federal government

I assume that is the equivalent to our Access to Work scheme?

    Hi @Wibbles

In the UK we use EDI instead of DEI, which stands for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and it aims to eradicate prejudice and discrimination by addressing things like the gender pay gap and improving access to work for disabled people and other people who are historically disciminated against. It essentially is meant to ensure fair treatment and opportunity for all.

I'd say that schemes like Access to Work are as a result of EDI rather than being EDI/DEI itself.

Thanks for explaining that - but things don't look rosy for disabled individuals in US - do they ?

You could certainly say things are in a bit of a state of flux.

Especially after what Trump just said at his press conference on the air crash

You mean blaming the Diversity program for it ?
