GB next?
I have always said and I will say again - do not mix LGBT and disabled people. You can see the negative consequences yourself.

This is going to end extremely badly for all concerned in USA !

They won't be told. They think he's the Messiah.
We are all in danger from these extremists..

He's planning on imposing import tariffs on all other countries plus giving tax relief on other nations companies who transfer to US - thus ensuring that the US prospers at the expense of the rest of the world ! How nasty is that ?

Some of the executive orders he's pushed through really concern me if I'm honest

He's worse a tyrant than Putin

But what happens in the US affects us all. The whole world

Donald yawningly boring trump.....he makes the devil look like an angel 😇 lol

I think both are very important and I don't think anyone has said the UKs aren't priority, but the US political climate also really impacts the UK and also highlights a growing global concern that we are swinging towards a draconian, right-wing, dictatorship, and with the growing influence and interest Musk and Trump are showing in UK politics, and the shift and increase in support for parties like Reform, it's important people are paying attention to what's going on and what that could mean. Just because it isn't having an immediate and obvious impact on us doesn't make it any less important. The poem 'First they came' springs to mind

Musk and trump need to butt out of the UK politics as it's nothing to do with them

That poem comes to mind more and more lately. Don't people understand? 😔

DEI
A memo, followed by an executive order, has shut down all the offices of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programmes within the federal government
I assume that is the equivalent to our Access to Work scheme?

Hi @Wibbles
In the UK we use EDI instead of DEI, which stands for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and it aims to eradicate prejudice and discrimination by addressing things like the gender pay gap and improving access to work for disabled people and other people who are historically disciminated against. It essentially is meant to ensure fair treatment and opportunity for all.
I'd say that schemes like Access to Work are as a result of EDI rather than being EDI/DEI itself.

Thanks for explaining that - but things don't look rosy for disabled individuals in US - do they ?
0 -
You could certainly say things are in a bit of a state of flux.
0 -
Especially after what Trump just said at his press conference on the air crash
0 -
You mean blaming the Diversity program for it ?
0 -
Yes. The official US definition of diversity includes disabled, gender(inc women) people of colour and LBGT people

Scary for disabled people living in US - What Trump will do/claim next…
1 -
OK Trump has handed his best mate "Elon Musk" - access to everyone in US's private information - including full bank account details !!
This is only in the US not UK
