Hi my name is is Steve and it would be be good to talk to people with experience and knowledge of attendance allowance Applied in September and got text to say received on 24th September. Nearly 5 months on and nothing

    Hi , finally got through to DWP and they said my claim was rejected in October as I claim PIP . I have never claimed PIP in my life . They said it must be a mistake and would send a mandatory check request . This is real incompetence

    Hi @Drisc1, welcome to the community!

    I have to say, that is a new one to me. While it is true you cannot claim both PIP and Attendance Allowance I've yet to hear them claim someone has PIP when they haven't. It's usually them trying to claim people aren't eligible for PIP.

    Let us know how that check goes on?

    Thankyou Jim, they admitted they were wrong but I would have to wait for a mandatory consideration, but could give no time date or wether payment would be be back dated
