hi
I recently received the my state pension last month at 66.
I was on housing benefit and reapplied when I became a pensioner.
on my Housing benefit award letter I noticed an amount for Severe Disability Premium (single)
I am on Adult Disability Payment enhanced rate for both care and mobility and have been for years. I was not on UC at any time but on ESA
I’m not sure how I have this (not payed yet) or sure if I should have been already receiving this benefit
Any information welcome on this
Thanks

The SDP is not actually paid as such with housing benefit, it's included in the calculation of it but it's complicated.
When you were claiming ESA if this was Income Related and you were living alone or treated as a living alone, no one was claiming either carers allowance or carers element of UC for looking after you then your ESA should have included the SDP.
As you're now state pension age, the SDP (known as Severe disability Addition SDA) can be claimed through Pension Credit, assuming all of the above criteria applies. You can claim pension credit online here.
For the SDP for when you were claiming ESA then you'll need to ring them to ask to claim it and ask for it to be backdated from the date you became entitled to it. (if the above criteria applied at that time)
