UC Migration

Hiya Everyone this is my first post I need advice please. We have put in our application to move from ESA & Carers Allowance to UC on 1st Feb 2025 they have told us our first payment will be on 6th March this will be 6 days after our usual ESA payment and will also see us missing 3 Carers Allowance payments if this weeks was our last payment of both as we were advised. Will this be taken into consideration in or first UC Payment? Also a little more complicated question, UC is paid Monthly and Our other benefits were paid 2 weekly and weekly will this lead to a loss of what we were paid or is this taken into consideration?
I have asked all these questions on our journal but had no answer?
Can you request 4 weekly payments?
Can you request rent to be payed directly?
We are quite concerned that we will get less than we currently get?
TIA

Carers Allowance is not impacted by UC and will continue to be paid weekly.
It will be deducted in full from your UC award. It will look like the deduction is more than you receive, this is because CA is a weekly benefit and there are 4.3 weeks in a month not 4.
After claiming UC ESA will give one more payment (known as a run on), this sometimes isn't the usual full amount, this will not impact your first UC payment.
UC will calculate your previous legacy benefits as monthly amounts, if your UC award is less than legacy benefits then Transitional Protection will be added to your claim, which is designed to make sure you aren't worse off at the time of transfer. This does erode over time as the elements rise annually and you become eligible for new elements.
You can request an Alternative Payment Arrangement, I believe they rarely grant weekly payments but two payments a month is more common. This will not be exactly two weeks apart, and does mean on your first payment date you will only receive half with the other half following later.
Yes you can request rent paid directly to landlord.

They stopped our housing benefit on the 13th February?
When will they start communication on my journal ?0 -
What communication are you expecting through your journal?
As you submitted your claim for UC on 1st Feb your first UC payment will not be until around 5th March. Around the end of this month you will receive a statement on your journal and this will tell you what elements are included, any deductions and what will be paid into your bank.

I’ve put notes in my journal but I think because if I read yours correctly you are like me and going into the LWRCA then we don’t have work coaches so no one there to check an respond. That’s all I can think it is

As you claimed on 1st Feb then the hb payment from 13th will be your run on payment, this will be the last one.
Your UC Housing Element is paid on 5th March.

How do I request for my rent to be paid directly? That’s the main question I asked on my journal

You write a note on your Journal to request housing element direct to landlord.
